Faithful+Gould has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Facility Condition Assessor to join the Strategic Facility Consulting (SFC) team. This role will be required to complete comprehensive facility condition field assessments on a wide range of buildings. A successful candidate will blend their building systems knowledge base and technical expertise with detailed and thorough writing skills to complete written reports on building conditions. This role can expect to be spending up to 20-40% of their time carrying out site-based assessments. The candidate must have a thorough understanding of various building types, construction systems and repair/replacement methods. This includes architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. Training is provided on internal proprietary project management software, however, a strong background in Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Adobe Acrobat PDF is required. This position must be located in or near the following cities: Alexandria, VA, Atlanta, GA, Chicago, IL, Phoenix, AZ or Hillsboro, OR with flexibility for 50% travel is a must. How will you contribute to the team?

  • Evaluate architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems to determine condition, remaining useful life end required expenditures and remedial measures.
  • Complete comprehensive and high-quality condition assessment and due diligence engineering evaluations of varying building types throughout the U.S.
  • Handle multiple assessment projects in condensed timeframe.
  • Identify and develop facility options to satisfy project objectives of client.
  • Provided project management the deliverable of small to medium sized assessment projects.
  • Provide client relationship management.
  • Identify and develop facility options to satisfy project objectives of client.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring and training to junior project managers and assessment teams.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelors’ degree or equivalent experience in Facilities Management, Architecture, Construction, or an associated Engineering field and have a minimum of ten years assessment experience on a variety of facilities
  • The candidate will have a thorough understanding of building systems and their components, will be organized and efficient, and will have demonstrated leadership and management abilities.
  • Good reporting skills are required and ability to meet frequent tight deadlines.
  • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to successfully manage client’s expectations, schedule and cost with minimum supervision.
  • Must be familiar with all types of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems and equipment.

Please keep in mind that this position has physical demands:

  • Walk (for most of an 8-hour workday and up to 3 to 4 continuous hours at one time).
  • Climb ladders (including vertical ladders up multiple stories) and/or steep roof stairs (for each building assessed, at least once per on-site assessment).
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl (to observe basement and grade-level crawl spaces, and/or to read equipment data plates when necessary).
  • Must be able to pass a government background check.
  • Up to 50% travel time to assessment sites within the U.S. during a typical work week.
