This position is part of the SSF Financial Accounting team. The role involves the provision of support to the SSF Financial Controller. The main activities concern preparation of SNC trade debtor returns, performing trade debtor and creditor checks, raising internal invoices, and reconciling the quarterly inter-company return.

This role will be reporting to the Bangalore-based Financial Accounting Manager and work closely with the UK based Financial controller.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Preparation of Atkins internal Project Summary Report (PSR) data for submission to SNC-Lavalin.
  • Review and confirm SNC-Lavalin internal trade balances with Atkins.
  • Invoicing internal Atkins costs to non-JDE companies.
  • Review and enter exchange rates and project rates into JDE.
  • Review intercompany accounts, post-correction journals, and liaise with overseas to correct entries.
  • Reconcile Atkins non-JDE supplier statements monthly.
  • Assist with the quarterly inter-company reconciliation process and feedback to Group companies (over 80 overseas entities). 
  • Assist with the control self-assessment programme.
  • Adhoc projects and tasks, including but not limited to Bank reconciliations.
  • Sound analytical skills.
  • Good Attention to detail.
  • Customer Awareness.
  • Organised - they must be able to work in a structured way demonstrating an audit trail.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and take responsibility - must be able to identify the deadline for a piece of work to be completed e.g. period end and take responsibility for ensuring that the deadline is achieved.
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels.
  • Team Player – as a small team it will be necessary to cover colleagues’ workload.
  • Able to demonstrate the Core Values of the FSS -setting an example to others by showing respect and courtesy always, being open and honest, innovative, and flexible.

What will you contribute?

  • Qualified /Part qualified in a recognised professional accountancy qualification.
  • The candidate must have an advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including the use and set-up of Pivot tables and formulas.
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in the Financial accounting team preferably Shared services environment.
  • Exposure to accounting packages like JD Edwards etc.
  • Should have knowledge in Intercompany and General ledger accounting.
  • Bank reconciliation knowledge is an added advantage.
  • To have excellent English language skills in both written and verbal form.
  • Must be able to communicate with internal and external offshore colleagues in a professional manner.
  • The ability to work collaboratively, building strong relationships with business and intercompany partners.
  • Must have the ability to prioritise workload to achieve daily tasks and meet stringent deadlines.
  • Must be organised and able to be flexible.
  • Working hours: 10.00 am – 7.30 pm (India Standard Time).
  • Work Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore.
