Senior internal auditor

Under the supervision and guidance of the Manager, the Internal Auditor is responsible for reviewing and assessing SNC-Lavalin’s processes, controls and practices through audits of various operations, business & accounting processes.

The Internal Auditor shall perform audits in all locations of the Company to review and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of operations, reliability of financial reporting, as well as compliance with internal standard and external laws and regulations

Key responsibilities:

·       Review and evaluate the design and operational effectiveness of the internal controls;

·       Ensure clear and timely communication with stakeholders in order to conduct proper follow-ups on remediation plans, deadlines and updates on the different activities surrounding the audit mandates;

·       Participate in the coordination with external auditors when required;

·       Collaborate with the Internal Audit Manager in the identification and assessment of the organization risks that will drive the design of the annual audit plan;

·       Assist the Internal Audit Manager in the planning, designing of the strategy, execution and reporting of the audit mandates;

·       Conduct follow-ups to ensure that the proposed recommendations have been implemented;

·       Develop an understanding of key business risks, strategies and operations;

·       Foster an effective team environment;

·       Coach and support junior members of the team;

·       Contribute to the department’s operational excellence.

Requirements:

·       Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Accounting, Accounting Systems;

·       Four to eight years of relevant experience years of internal and/or external audit experience, preferably with an international Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) company (experience in accounting firm will be considered an asset);

·       Professional certification (CA, CPA, CIA, CISA or CFE) a plus;

·       Experience in IT audits and data analytics will be considered an asset;

·       Analytical and problem-solving abilities;

·       Ability to work autonomously in a team-driven environment;

·       Fluent English and French;

·       Willingness and ability to travel within Canada and internationally (up to 35% of the time).
