Senior Logistics Manager

We are currently looking for a Logistics Manager to join our team in KSA.

Role:

This role will have full oversight of the site wide logistics strategy in 2 remote locations 800km north of Jeddah in KSA. It will initially be based in Riyadh defining strategy and planning with the Client team but will require frequent trips to site to evaluate and assess the requirements. Primary activities will include the following.
  • Provision of Site Establishment (offices, welfare, power, water, it, warehouses, haul roads)
  • Construction related marine works for seaborne deliveries and access to Islands (Jetty’s / Pontoons)
  • Construction temporary waste water treatment utility
  • Provide aviation services - Rotary wings (such as medevac), Fixed wing airlift,  Airfield support (terminal management, refuelling, maintenance etc.)
    Concrete batching plants and bar bending facilities
  • Labour Camps
  • Design and engineering will be provided by the Consultant Engineer. It is expected however that the candidate will be able to lead the consultant to enable accurate and effective briefing documents to enable procurement of such plants and equipment.
Performance:
  • Development of a detailed Strategic Development Plan
  • Provide effective logistic planning and coordination that enable primary activities to proceed unhindered
  • Provide logistics / land and sea transportation / contractor movement capability and evaluation during reconnaissance
  • Develop as part of the strategic management plan a centralised movement and material control plan
  • Prepare with the assistance of the engineer an effective and efficient site layout plan
  • Develop a local and regional material management and distribution plan based on project requirements
  • Provide a detailed plan and oversight of marine logistics
  • Prepare a scope document and support the procurement process for contractor(s) to undertake the required scope, provide the required services
  • Ensure effective delivery of site-wide logistics through the Logistics Contractor ensuring that their scope of services is delivered satisfactorily through setting and monitoring of measurable goals and objectives

Change Management:

Monitor and manage variations and adjustments to Logistics Contractors scope, review the requirements and assess the impacts. Monitor construction change management process via the consultant/engineer.

Permitting:

Oversee the Logistics Contractor’s acquisition of all necessary permits for smooth logistics operations.

Cost:

Review completeness of established budgets and review cost plans. Ensure that work is measured / re-measured and work is signed off in accordance with the contract.
 
Planning:

Develop and review a monthly detailed graphical time slice showing activities and how logistics will support. Review weekly plans, confirm the activities are accurate and coordinated across stakeholders.

Risk:

Review detailed risk register developed by logistics contractor and team coordinated with all site stakeholders, complete with implement mitigation plan.

Interface:

Provide coordination across all programme consultants and stakeholders related to logistics works. Provide support to plots in terms of external access and influences that impact plot activities.

Communication:

Through regular meetings, highlight issues, concerns and roll out weekly directions to stakeholder’s team managers. Seek resolution to any issues with the respective plot, infrastructure or logistics teams or escalate with the proposed mitigation plan.

Reporting:

Weekly issues through detailed logistics dashboards.

Assurance:
  • Submission of checklists of all logistics contractor self-audits (QA, Safety, Environmental, Welfare etc.) review and report on status
  • Operations and Maintenance support services
  • Provide oversight where applicable of the following in advance of the primary facilities being provided:
  • Basic Welfare/Food Service
  • Material Management and Distribution
  • Communications and Information Services
  • Land Equipment Maintenance
  • Environmental, Health and Safety plan
  • Transportation
  • Accommodations Management and Support
  • Power / Water Supply and Distribution
  • Waste Management
  • Facilities Operations and Management
  • Roads and Grounds Services
  • Fire Services
  • Geomatics Support
