AtkinsRéalis Ports & Marine team in Canada looking for a Marine Site Supervisor to join our growing team. This position reports to the Ports & Marine National Director and focused on active Project Administration in Western Canada. Our teams make a real difference to communities and markets by connecting waterways and sea safely and efficiently. You’ll gain expertise on all aspects of this sector, from waterfront development to foreshore rehabilitation, terminals and facilities to asset management and assessments.

Location: This role will be based anywhere in Canada, preferably in Vancouver, Calgary or Toronto.

Your role within the team

As a member of our Ports & Marine team, you will:

  • Liaising with Clients on existing projects and pursuing new project opportunities.
  • Working collaboratively to assist other project team members, and to incorporate input from other parts of the business on multi-disciplinary projects.
  • Manage and act as Owner's Representative for active Marine Projects including Concrete caisson wharf structures, Open Berth structures, berthing and mooring dolphins, access trestles, jetties, sheet pile bulkhead wharf, walls and wood cribs wharf.
  • Coordinating drawing development with other technical staff and completing drawing reviews.
  • Reviewing project documentation to check clarity, accuracy, consistency in presentation, and compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
  • Undertaking site inspections for existing structures and current construction projects.
  • Managing project scope, schedule and finances.
  • Maintaining good working relationships with internal project support groups.

The ideal candidate

  • Holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from a recognized institution or Technical Diploma from a Technical College;
  • Registered as PTech (AScT) or working towards registration.
  • Has a minimum of 6 years’ experience in various roles including project coordination, construction management or construction supervision on behalf of the Owner’s Team or Design-Build Team;
  • Is familiar with marine design codes, standards, and structural requirements in relation to Marine Docks, Jetties, Quay Wharves, Access Trestles, Coastal Structures and common Civil/Coastal practices in the Pacific Northwest;
  • Has a functional understanding of typical marine design considerations for steel and concrete structures, soil/structure interaction and marine environmental loading;
  • Possess project management skills and have experience in successfully delivering marine infrastructure projects;
  • Has strong interpersonal skills and a positive, collaborative approach;
  • Fluent in English with excellent written and oral communication.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $68,000 - $94,600 annually.

Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
