Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Alexandria VA office as a Senior Mechanical Engineer   
 
Major Function/Role:
 
Responsible for HVAC system designs, studies and construction administration under the direct supervision of the Regional Engineering Manager. Project types will primarily include federal, higher education, municipal and transportation. The position will function within architectural/engineering team. The position will require collaboration with architectural and engineering team member to provide integrated and creative design solutions.
 
Job Duties:
 
Duties will include execution of HVAC systems design including calculations, analysis, study reports, code review, field investigations, equipment selection, drawing and specification production, interdisciplinary coordination, client communications, and construction administration.


Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering
  • This level may be achieved six to ten years' experience since B.S.
  • Minimum of six to ten years of HVAC design experience .
  • Specific mechanical engineering experience in Federal Government projects is preferred.
  • Proficient in Revit, AutoCad and load simulation software (Trane, Trace, Carrier HAP).
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills are required.
 Professional Certifications:
  • P.E license is required.
  • LEED Accredited is preferred.
