We support our clients with services that include Asset Management programs, consulting, technical advice, surveying and condition assessment, and other capabilities.

As part of our growth strategy, we are investing in our digital Asset Management (dAM) capabilities as well as partnerships that allow us to bring new offerings and delivery models to our clients. This encompasses software applications, system integration services, and managed services.

The Senior Solutions Architect is one of several key positions to focus on bringing new revenues to the Group and new value to our clients in the area of digital Asset Management (dAM). The role will report to the dAM Global Leader.

This role presents a unique opportunity to join a dynamic team and to play a leading role in building and executing Atkins’ Digital Asset Management strategy and growth plan. It will necessitate ambition, creativity, technical knowledge, architectural experience, and solutioning experience to create new offerings and develop new revenue streams for the business.

The role will also require strong client facing skills and experience. This includes presenting to clients, understanding client business challenges and opportunities, and designing solutions to fit client needs.

Solutions within the scope of this role include: Enterprise Asset Management, Asset Performance Management, Asset/Capital Investment Planning, IoT and GIS. Focus will be on leveraging and extending technology platforms and leading applications such as IBM Maximo, GE Meridium and ESRI.

The role will work collaboratively across the different divisions within Atkins UK, in a matrix form alongside the digital asset management team that is dispersed across Europe, North America, and Asia Pacific. The working environment is agile and fast paced, with a need to respond rapidly to changing business needs.

This will require domestic travel.

Responsibilities

• Work with Solution Managers, Client Directors and Clients to understand client requirements and design solutions for new and existing digital products and services. Architect innovative solutions that address client pain points and provide better outcomes.
• Review and advise on technical solutions to ensure they are the most appropriate solution for the client and market
• Maintain knowledge of technology developments in the field and ensures Atkins keeps up to date in its use of tools and software solutions
• Liaise with the Digital Development, Technical Services and Third Party Suppliers to estimate the required effort and cost to deliver a proposed solution.
• Liaise with the Enterprise Architecture team to ensure alignment with overall IS and technical strategies e.g. cloud architectures, containerization, etc.
• Provide consultancy and advice to Atkins business units in support of bids and customer engagements
• Provide technical evaluation of potential acquisition opportunities

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in the design of technical solutions and architectures for commercial software products and services.
• Demonstrable experience in architecting scalable software solutions that are delivered globally
•Experience using COTS applications as foundational elements for client solutions, especially EAP solutions like Maximo or Infor EAM
• Experience with the design and architecture of solutions that involve significant system integration using APIs and common data environments
• Experience with the design and architectures of web, mobile and cloud-based products.
• Hands-on experience with a wide range of technologies
• Experience of LEAN and Agile ways of working (Scrum, Kanban)
• Strong commercial focus and stakeholder engagement skills. Track record of direct client engagement in the development of software solutions.
• Excellent communication skills: verbal and written. Ability to explain highly technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
• Ability to build relationships and communicate at all levels
• Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships in a team based environment
• Ability to share technical knowledge and support colleagues
