Sr. Accountant - POC

Job Summary:

This position is primarily responsible for calculating & booking POC entries for large oil & gas projects and attends BAF meetings (Budget/Actual/Forecast) to gather data for booking the POC entries. In addition, ensure accurate and timely analysis of various general ledger accounts by researching/analyzing accounts; then preparing journal entries and accruals. The candidate must be very hands-on, detail oriented, and have strong organization and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• POC calculation & booking of related journal entries
• Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
• Complete various monthly and quarterly close responsibilities as assigned
• Assist in user management of Reconciliation software
• Interface with internal & external auditors
• Works on various special projects, support of external auditors during quarterly reviews/annual audits and other ad-hoc assignments as directed
• Month-end closing activities including journal entries, reconciliation of accounts, analysis, verification and preparation of supporting schedules
• Actively coordinate and communicate with the accounting/finance teams throughout the monthly close process

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
• CPA or CPA candidate preferred
• Public accounting experience preferred
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS
• Minimum 5 years' relevant accounting experience in general ledger accounting
• Prior Project Accounting experience preferred
• Proficient using complete Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
• Ability to solve complex problems and use sound judgment and decision making
• Solid attention to detail to ensure completeness and accuracy of information
• Prior Syteline, Oracle, other major ERP packages experience preferred
• Consolidation experience at a multi-national public company is preferred
