Your Purpose:

AtkinsRéalis is looking for a Stakeholder Engagement Lead to support its growing Infrastructure –Aviation business. Reporting to the Director -Asset Management , this role will focus on leading stakeholder engagement across major aviation projects and wider infrastructure sectors ensuring structured, strategic engagement across diverse stakeholder groups, including regulatory bodies, airport operators, airlines, service providers, construction contractors and government agencies.

The successful candidate will typically play a key role in developing and implementing stakeholder engagement strategies and plans for major aviation transformation programmes, business and supply chain change initiatives, and infrastructure developments, both in the UK and internationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Map and evaluate stakeholder environments (internal and external) for clients. Develop and implement stakeholder engagement strategies and plans for complex aviation transformation and infrastructure programmes.
  • Lead engagement with key stakeholders, including airport operators, regulatory agencies, airlines, government bodies, service providers, construction contractors and other industry partners.
  • Proactively consider interdependencies between stakeholders and project activities, acting as a voice of reason to support risk mitigation and assess the wider impact of change, design, or programme activities.
  • Drive a structured and collaborative, two-way engagement approach, ensuring stakeholders are actively involved in decision-making and project development.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder mapping tools, engagement plans, and risk registers to monitor stakeholder concerns and programme alignment.
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder forums, and engagement sessions to build collaboration and manage stakeholder expectations effectively.
  • Support compliance with regulatory, policy, and planning requirements by engaging closely with aviation regulators and government agencies.
  • Work closely with project teams to embed stakeholder engagement within the overall business change and communication strategies.
  • Work with clients leads, project subject matter experts, and communications specialists on the content for engagement activities.
  • Identify and mitigate stakeholder-related risks, providing advice on opportunities and potential areas of concern.
  • Support executive-level stakeholder engagement, including briefing senior leaders and preparing reports on stakeholder-related matters.
  • Assist with proposals and bid activities as required.
  • Manage and guide junior team members, ensuring best practices in stakeholder engagement are embedded across all projects.

What you can bring:

Essential:

  • Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, public affairs, or communications, preferably in aviation, infrastructure, or transport sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of stakeholder engagement principles, regulatory frameworks, and communication best practices.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • Experience managing high-profile stakeholder engagement activities, particularly in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Strong facilitation skills, with the ability to lead workshops, forums, and structured discussions.
  • Ability to assess stakeholder concerns, risks, and opportunities, providing strategic recommendations.
  • Experience working in live operational environments where projects must be delivered with minimal disruption to business operations.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Communications, Change Management, Public Affairs, Business, Engineering, or Aviation).
  • Experience working on aviation transformation projects, business change initiatives, or infrastructure programmes.
  • Understanding of UK and international aviation regulations and planning requirements.

Security clearance:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview.
