Atkins, Balfour Beatty and Egis Road Operations UK are part of a consortium, creating Connect Plus Services, a unique partnership with a collective strength in highways asset care from finance, through to design, build, maintenance as well as day to day operation.

We have an opportunity for an experienced Technology & Tunnel Engineer to assist in the asset management of the Tunnel, M&E and Technology assets across the M25 network.

Role Purpose:

A short and succinct overview of the role, bringing it alive.

The M25 DBFO manages the busiest motorway in Europe and has a strong multi-disciplinary Environment and Sustainability Team as part of the Asset and Project Delivery Directorate. The Sustainability Team is responsible for the Sustainability Action Plan, Social Value, Climate Change Adaption, Carbon Reduction, ESG and the collection of carbon, waste and material data from schemes.

The Sustainability Analyst plays an essential role collating, tracking and analysing the sustainability data that we need to use to drive down our environmental impacts.

Dimensions:

Occasional travel around M25 network to other offices.

To be based 60% of time in CPS offices and 40% of time at home.

Interfaces:

Key internal and external stakeholders that the role interacts with:

  • Internal - Operation and Maintenance Teams, Designers, Asset Managers, Connect Plus.
  • External - National Highways.

Accountabilities:

  • Produce monthly/quarterly reports of carbon, waste, materials and travel.
  • Management of Designer & Framework Carbon Tools and Sustainability Tool.
  • Work with Supply Chain Manager to report sustainability data, including implementing waste management strategies with tier 2 contractors.
  • Manage energy, social value and sustainability data management and produce dashboards in Power Bi.
  • Manage fuel reduction strategy data and dashboards.
  • Identify poor data quality issues with contractor submissions and identify corrective actions.
  • Undertake data analysis to identify trends and opportunities for operational and design improvement and potential cost reduction.
  • Undertake analysis of environmental incidents reports on the network.
  • Drive operational improvement programmes through delivery of waste audits and engagement programmes in the business.
  • Management of EIA Audit, soft estate and tree survey KPIs.
  • Support the delivery of Social Value at Connect Plus Services.
  • Support delivery of Sustainability Strategy and Action Plan.

Experience/Criteria:

  • Relevant experience within the data management field.
  • Ability to synthesise and analyse quantitative and qualitative information.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills good understanding of formulas, pivot tables and Power Query.
  • Understanding of Power Bi desirable but not essential.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Basic knowledge of sustainability issues desirable but not essential.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office Applications e.g., Word & PowerPoint.

Location:

Office can be partly at home and partly in CPS offices in Dartford, Leatherhead or South Mimms, however we welcome flexible working.

This role is available part time, job share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full time.
