Job Title: Sustainability Implementation Manager

Linxon seeks to strengthen its position in the UK Substation Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) market across the Utilities, Conventional Generation and Renewables segments. This position will work closely with the Global Proposals and Sales teams as well as the UK country team.Reporting to the UK HSE Manager you will develop and constantly evolve the Linxon Sustainability strategy (aligning with key customer objectives), embed tangible sustainable solutions within tender strategies/submissions and then ensure effective implementation and monitoring during project delivery.

What will you do?

  • Active involvement in setting the Linxon UK Sustainability Strategy to align with Linxon global sustainability (Net Zero Carbon) objectives and key customer objectives in consultation with the Linxon sales team.
  • Complete carbon baselining reports for current Linxon construction projects.
  • Identify and manage the implementation of tangible solutions, actions and process changes to deliver the agreed sustainability strategy - via engagement with:Customer Sustainability Representatives SNC-Lavalin Group representatives and sister companies Hitachi-ABB Power Grids representatives and product groups Suppliers / Subcontractors (with support from Linxon Supply Chain Team) Third Party Power and Construction Industry Advisors / Experts Linxon Engineering Team Linxon Operations Team
  • Provide support to Proposals Managers and Engineering team to embed solutions within Linxon tenders.
  • Create plans to monitor the carbon reduction impact of solutions / process changes during the project delivery stage, aligning with both Linxon and customer Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reporting.
  • Ensure personal compliance with Linxon Code of Conduct, Ethics and Corporate governance.
  • Actively meet personal safety targets and promote a safe working environment including taking immediate action if observing unsafe acts.

Other Parameters:

  • Must be willing to travel inside the UK and to European countries as required in-line with business needs.
  • A highly effective communicator/influencer with a deep understanding of construction environments. 
  • Ability to communicate technical information in an accessible way

Experience Required:

  • Formulating and delivering sustainability strategies in consultation with multiple stakeholders
  • Experience setting carbon reduction strategies in construction/engineering or other related industries
  • Experience in setting and implementing Science Based Targets
  • Good experience of implementing carbon reduction measures including supplier solutions and process changes
  • Experience monitoring, reviewing and verifying carbon reduction performance

Education and Training Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a Sustainability related discipline with relevant experience.
  • Membership of appropriate professional body – IEMA of similar
  • Or 3 or more A-Levels (Grade A*-C) [or equivalent qualification] with 5 years relevant experience
