The role will include:

  • Representing Atkins on a daily basis to our Client and their representatives.

  • Management and coordination of the MEP Design Team

  • Management of the coordination with other services and/or sub-consultants

  • Showing strong communication skills to interact with project stakeholders, where necessary explaining and dissecting our designs and providing direction to our design team.

  • Demonstrating commercial awareness with the administration of Change Control system.


Minimum Requirements

  • Building Services/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering BSc. degree from an internationally recognized University.

  • Chartered Engineer with the relevant Institute

  • 20+ years’ experience in delivering major projects.

  • 15+ years’ experience in a multi-disciplinary Team Leader position

  • A specific discipline strength and/or speciality would be advantageous.

  • An in-depth understanding of all MEP and building services design processes.

  • The ability to think laterally and possess a sound understanding of engineering principles with the ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to build and develop relationships, both internally and externally.

  • Experience on design and build project would be advantageous.

  • Experience of working with Contractors

  • Previous experience of leading multi-disciplinary design teams and responsibilities for budgets and programming

  • Commercial awareness essential with an understanding and ability to administer Change Control.

  • Computer literate with all standard project design and development software including Microsoft, BIM etc.

  • Strong communication skills will be required to interact with multiple internal and external Teams and project stakeholders.

  • Specialist/Industry Leader in specific facet of an MEP aspect.

  • Demonstrable track record of technical achievement and client satisfaction within the MEP industry

  • Ability to apply technical knowledge in analysing problems and creating solutions.

  • Able to work and communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.

  • Flexible approach to work

  • Ability to work on your own initiative.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to make correct judgments.

  • Ability to adapt to different cultures and working environments.

  • Aspiration to grow with responsibility and to manage a growing team of skilled engineers.

  • Ability to build rapport with customers and colleagues.

  • Well-motivated and able to work as part of a team or on individual assignments when required.

  • Excellent English spoken and written skills within a business environment.
