Our Technology Solutions teams work collaboratively with our clients to develop innovative technology solutions to their complex problems. We support clients across many industry sectors, and see our Indian talent being integral to delivery for our Energy, Water and Transport clients in particular.

As our Practice Lead for Technology Solutions in our Global Technology Centre (GTC) in India, your purpose will be to lead a high value end-to-end client service from user experience design, product management and solution architecture through to integration, development, test and service management. The service helps our clients implement high-quality, user centric, technologies that can are confidently developed, scaled, and adapted, and can be transitioned, transformed, and operated to deliver business outcomes. We’re vendor-agnostic, meaning we’re not tied to any platform or software. We enable our clients to find and integrate the most cost-effective solution for their unique needs. User buy-in is key, which we achieve through embedding modern user-centric design methods at the heart of what we do.

The Technology Solutions service is part of our Digital practice. It sits alongside two other services: Data Intelligence and Enabling Services. Data Intelligence helps our clients set data strategy and governance, architect and manage their data and generate insight from it through artificial intelligence and powerful visualizations. Enabling Services encompasses our digital internally managed services that support our wider business.

You will need to work with the other Practice Leads in India, whilst collaborating closely with your counterparts in our global regions to: attract, develop and retain talent; manage project delivery to exceptional quality standards; define and strengthen capabilities and service lines; and manage our commercial, operational and risk indicators.

This is a team leadership role, you will be expected to complete technical delivery, but provision will be made for a portion of non-productive time.

Accountabilities

You will be empowered to drive the success of Technology Solutions, working collaboratively with colleagues across the wider business. Specifically, you will have a big personal impact to:

  • Develop an industry leading service in designing, delivering and operating high quality technology solutions by defining a clear client journey linked-up with appropriate toolchains and processes, building relevant capabilities and recruiting, retaining and developing talent.
  • Mature the technical capabilities of the practice, being a respected technical leader in multiple capabilities and able to identify and empower others within your team to share knowledge and mentor new and junior team members for the betterment of the practice
  • Ensure efficient utilization and growth of the resource pool within the Practice in conjunction with the Practice Resource Manager, stretching our talent to meet and exceed their growth aspirations
  • Actively participate and provide both technical and leadership contributions toward the Technology Solutions Global Technical Network (GTN)
  • Collaborate with Market/Client teams, and our GTC Digital Growth Lead to drive sales for the service, and shape the delivery approach, working with Marketing to ensure that practice collateral clearly articulates the service offering and ensuring our delivery approach minimizes risk whilst maximizing value
  • Streamline interfaces with other Practice areas, both within the GTC and more broadly, to enable high value integrated propositions, identifying complementary expertise and aligning ways of working to reduce barriers
  • Ensure consistently high-quality delivery that delights our clients despite inevitable setbacks, driving the adoption of modern methods in all client engagements, capturing insights to embed continuous improvement and shifting towards a service-oriented business model
  • Maintain a horizonal view with respect to advancements in technology solutions within the wider industry and proactively bring new ideas and evolutionary concepts into technical and marketing discussions to prompt new ways of thinking and competitive advantages.

Person profile

You will be an experienced and excellent leader in providing a consultancy service to help clients design, develop and operate high quality technology solutions, with a strong background in delivering software solutions and a practical understanding across the full technology stack. Beyond that, you will:

  • Be a recognized and respected technical leader in many of the capability lines of the practice
  • Have a track record in setting and implementing strategy for a high performing client service

You will be able to demonstrate the following experience, skills, and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other relevant field (practical experience in lieu will be considered)
  • Extensive experience in overseeing the design and development of large applications, including application development processes and quality control while coordinating multiple programmers
  • Extensive experience with current programming techniques, development tools, database design and/or administration of enterprise relational database management systems
  • Demonstrable experience operating using excellent interpersonal, technical writing and communications skills
  • An industry recognized certification, i.e., Microsoft Certified Solution Developer desired, or equivalent

Role Requirements

You will be able to demonstrate the following experience, skills, and qualifications:

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or other relevant field (practical experience in lieu will be considered)
  • Extensive experience in overseeing the design and development of large applications, including application development processes and quality control while coordinating multiple programmers
  • Extensive experience with current programming techniques, development tools, database design and/or administration of enterprise relational database management systems
  • Domain experience and knowledge of software and/or architecture for Cloud and Hybrid Cloud solutions
  • Demonstrable experience working with DevOps approaches and Agile/Waterfall interfaces
  • Experience leading large (25-100 FTE) development teams and  technical communities, preferably with direct line management, resourcing and budget responsibilities
  • Demonstrable experience operating using excellent interpersonal, technical writing and communications skills with ability to communicate complex problems to both technical and non-technical audiences

Highly Desirable

  • A practical understanding of the Microsoft Azure tech stack, preferably with relevant Microsoft certifications
  • Experience working with or as part of a Technical Authority, Design Authority and/or in adherence to Technical Delivery Frameworks
  • Experience operating in a client-facing role, preferably with business/solution development responsibilities, including proposal writing, cost build up and value proposition development
  • Knowledge of wider DevOps practices including CI/CD, DevSecOps etc. and supporting tooling such as MS DevOps, Jira, Confluence
  • Industry recognized and applicable certifications or demonstrable experience in lieu of, e.g. Microsoft Certified Solution Developer, PRINCE2, APM, Scaled Agile

Location

Whilst this role is a GTC leadership position, we are open to applicants from other geographies. Applicants from other geographies will be expected to articulate how they would fulfill the role requirements remotely and would be expected to travel regularly to India if appointed. Secondments will be considered.
