Atkins seeks an energetic, highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our Transportation Planning team in our Raleigh office as a Transportation Planner.

Under supervision, successful applicant applies technical professional proficiency to the solution of transportation planning problems and the coordination of related project activities. Work may involve, but is not limited to traffic forecasting, long-range transportation planning, corridor studies and special studies.


Job Duties:

Performs work which involves technical analysis on transportation-related projects, providing research and innovative solutions to complex transportation projects, and assist in the development of long-range transportation planning products.


Education and Experience:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Planning or related field. This level may be achieved by Planners with two years’ experience since Bachelor's or one year since Master's. Typical degreed incumbent has 4-5 years’ experience.


Special Skills:

Able to plan, schedule, and conduct complex planning studies and convey findings and recommendations in oral and written report form.

Basic computer skills required.


Professional Registrations:

AICP certification or E.I. preferred.
