Role Summary

The national environmental lead for AtkinsRéalis in Australia, to support our current portfolio of projects and growth of new Environmental service lines for AtkinsRéalis in Australia. This is a fantastic opportunity to take a leading environmental role to work on challenging projects within the infrastructure and energy sectors and lead a growing environmental team.

The successful applicant will be an experienced Environmental Consultant in both pre and post approvals within the infrastructure sector.

Candidates should have the right flare and ability that will help us develop and expand our environmental capability by building on the existing portfolio of our expanding, flexible and outward looking team that can tackle work across a broad spectrum of sectors.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead/manage the environmental consultancy team, including delivery of pre and post approval works.
  • Assist in the development of AtkinsRéalis’ environmental capabilities in Australia across our target markets: Power & Renewables, Defence, Transportation and Water
  • Contribute to the development of complex project proposals/cost estimates and participate in the process of securing new business opportunities or expanding the scope of existing projects.
  • Lead on the environmental requirements on complex infrastructure projects and work with a global team.
  • Build and develop the team – grow the Environmental team through experienced and early career recruitment.
  • Take the role of Key Client Contact for developing environmental opportunities, managing client expectations and building lasting relationships
  • Work with the ANZ leadership team (CEO, Practice Director, and Markets Directors) to develop service line strategies
  • Engage on delivering market strategies to determine project opportunities.

Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities

  • Demonstrated ability to develop and embed improvements in work methods across infrastructure projects
  • Conduct environmental site inspections on occasions, to monitor compliance and drive better environmental outcomes.
  • Experience in construction delivery is advantageous
  • In-depth knowledge of the regulatory framework and technical elements. You will take an active role in developing others to build these skills amongst the broader team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills and the ability to develop and lead teams.
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with clients.
  • Writing tenders / proposals in the pursuit of winning new business.
  • Business Development to create and deliver on strategies,
  • Tertiary qualification in Science, Environment Engineering or related field, or experience deemed equivalent and professional experience within the infrastructure
