Chief Process Engineer – Major Projects

AtkinsRéalis Nuclear and Power has built a market leading position in technically challenging projects in low carbon nuclear energy. We are growing strongly in fusion, fuel production, reactor new build, reactor operations and decommissioning. The range of projects is vast, from handling gram quantities of tritium in the fusion fuel cycle, waste vitrification, liquid lead cooled Gen IV reactors as well as new nuclear projects for Rolls Royce SMR, Sizewell C and Hinkley C.

As Head of Engineering Delivery for the Nuclear and Power business, I am keenly aware of the value that excellence in process engineering can bring. Our growth means we have opportunities for senior leaders in our strong project pipeline. If you have a passion for leading project delivery, an aptitude for design projects, love motivating teams and thrive on project variety I would really like to meet you.

The people we are interested in will be able to describe how they have led large process projects. We are interested in your approach to leading the team, collaborating with the client, having a clear vision to deliver requirements and managing technical and project risk.

Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role for a Chief Process Engineer at AtkinsRéalis. The Chief Process Engineer will be responsible for overseeing process engineering projects, optimizing processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards, and leading a team of engineers. This role is based in the London Area with flexibility for remote work.

Qualifications

  • Process Optimization, Process Engineering, and Project Management skills
  • Experience in ensuring compliance with regulations and standards
  • Leadership and Team Management skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience in the nuclear or energy industry is a plus
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field

Your purpose:

We are looking for someone versatile with a clear vision for process led project delivery; you could be managing multiple mid-size projects, or one large, single or multi-disciplinary team. You will enjoy working closely with clients on a range of demanding issues whilst helping to mentor and train colleagues.

Your engineering teams may be co-located or geographically disparate, we have home offices across the UK and support flexible working.

The ever-changing conditions of the energy industry means we need individuals who can adapt, change and thrive when working in dynamic environments, and we strive to balance these demands with a focus on inclusivity, well-being and flexible working which helps to bring the best out in all our staff.

Our flexible and remote working policies are designed to help you get the most out of life. And when you join us, you'll be a part of a genuinely collaborative environment where everyone's voice is valued and treated equally.
