Construction Planner Our Chicago team is growing! If you want to be a part of a successful global organization and have at least 5 years of working on large Construction projects in Manufacturing or Energy sectors, we would like to connect with you. The primary objective of the Construction Planner is the development of Level 5 Construction work plans that are effective, fit-for purpose and robust, and can be maintained to the quality required by the planning and scheduling practices and procedures.This position is located at our client site in Whiting, Indiana. Responsibilities
-Lead Interactive Planning and Construction Lean Planning sessions.

-Establish Project WBS that is directly related to the project and aligns to the Standard Code of Accounts.

-Ensuring that comprehensive schedules are developed using industry best practices and site benchmarking data.

-Challenge internal and external TIC estimate including unit rates.

-Ensure that the construction plans are structured and logical to clearly show plan vs actual data and be able to interpret cause and effect.

-Align with Project deliverables

- Support the "forward" planning of Construction during early project stages, utilizing preliminary concept and design information and target "issued for construction" and "received on site" milestones for field mobilization

-Develop Construction Scheduling templates utilizing benchmarking data and norms.

-Participate in "Lunch and Learn" sessions with all Project Team disciplines to encourage continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

-Utilize critical path analysis and what-if scenarios to fully support the project team.

-Account for approved change orders in the schedule and analyze their impact on the project.


Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or related field
-Five years relevant experience
-Must have strong understanding of CPM (Critical Path Method) concepts and calculations
-Strong understanding of earned value concepts, calculations, and rules of credit
-Proficiency in Primavera scheduling products (P6) and report preparation skills
-Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
-Familiar with relationship databases logic is required.
Certification with AACE, PMI or CMAA is preferred.
