Purpose of the role
The Data Engineer will play a vital role for R&A CoE wherein he will contribute in terms of creating the data platform for R&A CoE, data management, data pipeline creation, ensuring data quality & integrity, support data analytics, ensure performance and scalability of current and future data models. This role will be part of R&A CoE Finance wherein The person need to closely work with group’s data architecture & data platform team, project management team to ensure we develop R&A CoE Finance data platforms in accordance with group’s best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for Creation of ETL Pipelines.
- Responsible for designing and building new Data Models and optimizing existing data models.
- Exploit elasticity and agility of the cloud.
- Ownership of physical Data models of serving layer
- Responsible and accountable for pipelines reliability and availability.
- Responsible of Data analysis for troubleshooting and exploration
- Understand the meaning, domain and the context of the data.
Professional & Technical skills
Essential:
- Azure Technology Stack: SQL DW/Synapse- Azure Data Factory - Azure Databricks - Azure Data Lake Storage.
- Knowledge & experience working w/ Microsoft data lakes (EDL, HRDL, PSDL) or analysis services (KPI Lake, Azure cubes).
- Ability to write complex SQL scripts and stored procedures.
- Demonstrated experience in design and delivering data platforms for Business Intelligence or Data Warehouse, including data ingestion, ETL and data integration.
- Strong skills in handling and analysing complex, high volume data with excellent attention in details.
- Knowledge of data modelling and data warehousing concepts, such as Kimball or 3NF.
- Familiar with Agile methodology and Agile working environment.
- Ability to work alone with team leads, BAs, data architects, other.
- The Individual
- You are highly analytical with an ability to apply your problem-solving skills to solve complex data platform challenges.
- You are self-motivated and passionate about actively contributing to our R&A CoE objectives.
- With your technical & business know-how you should easily perform due diligence on business Data Analytics problems and quickly grasp the key process issues and data challenges.
Qualifications & Experience
Essential:
- 3 - 4 years of experience in data warehouse environment, which includes developing ETL/ELT pipelines, database designs, writing SQL transformation.
- 3 – 4 years strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Data & Analytics PaaS Services, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Storage and other services within the Azure data analytics framework.
- Deep knowledge or expert level experience in Databricks.
- Works with Architects, Technical Leads and Business Teams and contributes to the development of technical designs.
- Secure data migrations & transformations to/from clients, customers, and vendors.
- Develops, constructs, tests, and maintains Azure Data factory flows/pipelines.
- Working experience on PySpark, Spark SQL, Serverless SQL pool, Dedicated SQL pools.
- Strong knowledge of various data structures and the ability to extract data from various data sources (such as ePBCS (Hyperion), Cognos, Informatica etc.).
- Expose data to end users for consumption such as Power BI or other data integration sources ensuring that the proper security permissions are in place.
- Experience in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures and creating data models.
- Proven experience performing large data migration and transformation efforts would be helpful Excellent Analytical skill to understand the issues and ability to backtrack them until root cause.
- Design, implement, and continuously expand ETL pipelines by performing extraction, transformation, and loading activities.
- Candidate should be aware of Release management, Change management, CI/CD pipelines.
Desirable
- Knowledge on Data from Oracle EBS(ERP), JDE(ERP), ePBCS (EPM) would be very good.
- Experience in working for a consulting firm with strict project deadlines is advantageous.
- Project Management certification like PMP, CAPM, PMI-ACP would be a great plus.
- Experience in building predictive analytics use cases around finance and accounting information/data.
- Experience in working on AI and ML related projects to prepare the necessary data and data models.
Additional Information
Working hours: 12pm – 9.30pm (India Standard Time)
Transportation, Food & Shift allowance will be provided.
Work Location: Yelahanka, Bangalore.
