Senior Manager, Utilities

Responsibilities

. 

• Provides oversight and supervision of the design and implementation of utilities work at specific interfaces within the project jurisdiction.
• Review and respond to RFIs and construction submittals associated with the ongoing utilities work, with the support of the utilities engineering team.
• Review changes proposed by the CM contractor and provide required input for acceptance.
• Coordinate design and construction activities.
• Participation in weekly technical team meetings.
• Track record of ongoing changes (design/contract).
• Review interdependencies and construction sequencing to avoid scheduling issues between contractors (deep and shallow).
• Coordination with the City Business Units (Mobility, Water) and other stakeholders (CMLC, CSEC etc.).
• Assist with change management and monthly invoice review.
• Lead a team of utility design engineers to execute deliverables with respect to the utility interfaces.
• Reviews submissions and identify compliance with requirements.
• Liaise with project personnel to determine appropriate mitigation measures for issues arising within the utilities scope.
• Liaise with 3rd party stakeholders with regards to the Utilities scope of work. 
• Liaison with project personnel to report on status and progress of the Utilities scope.

Qualifications

• Holds a degree (or higher) in a relevant subject (such as Civil or Electrical Engineering).
• Holds Professional Engineer status or equivalent.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience a similar role
• Has worked on major transportation project and has experience of dealing with stakeholders.
