Electrical Engineer (Engineer-in-Training)

This role will be based in Burnaby, BC.

Your role within the team:

The Electrical Engineer (Engineer-in-Training) will report to the Senior Engineer who will provide supervision for the electrical design work that includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Preparation of electrical single line diagrams, AC/DC control schematics, wiring distribution schemes, etc. including electrical calculations.
  • Design of physical layout of electrical equipment, raceway and grounding plans related to the various facilities within the plant.
  • Preparation of cable and raceway routing layouts.
  • Preparation of conduit and tray fill calculations, etc.
  • Perform voltage drop, cable trench fill calculation and photometric studies.
  • Preparation of electrical equipment specifications.

The ideal candidate:

  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
  • Previous electrical design work experience in power projects is beneficial.
  • Experience with electrical calculations/analysis software (ETAP) is beneficial but is not a requirement.
  • Experience with AutoCAD is beneficial but is not a requirement.
  • Knowledge and application of the Canadian electrical code is beneficial but is not a requirement.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of French is an asset.

Expected compensation for this role is between Pay Range $62,200 - $85,500 annually (Only Applicable to British Columbia). Base salaries are determined according to several parameters like skills, experience, and potential impact on the role. Internal and external competitiveness are also taken into account in our offers.
