The role of an Asset Management and Maintenance Services Engineer/Consultant is as varied as they come. You can be involved in many different kinds of projects from fleet reliability studies, new or revised maintenance and overhaul regime conception through to maintenance life-cycle cost modelling, fleet management strategies and depot capacity analysis.

We are now looking for a talented Engineer to join our successful consulting teams in Derby or London to support of our ambitious growth plans.

Further duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Writing clear and concise technical documents to support maintenance and overhaul regimes
  • Deferring or extending maintenance and overhaul intervals by means of risk assessment
  • Fleet management strategy
  • Franchise bid support (in the area of fleet maintenance and performance, and depot and stabling strategy)
  • Reliability centred maintenance
  • Managing or supporting allocated tasks, including estimating, planning, tendering, and execution
  • Providing support to colleagues relating to technical maintenance products and services, in particular in areas of personal expertise and knowledge

Required Experience & Skills

You will need a sound understanding of Rolling Stock Maintenance principles in the UK including maintenance plans, regime structures and how depots and fleets are managed. This will have been gained through experience in maintenance or service support within the Rail industry. Proven industry relationships with train manufacturers or operating companies are considered highly advantageous. You will have the ability to assess assignment risks and how they can be managed, including technical, contractual and financial.  A proven relationship builder, you will be an excellent communicator, both verbally and written.

You must also possess an engineering degree in a relevant discipline and it’s expected that you will have reached, or are working towards Chartered status.

Please note that whilst the main location states Derby, opportunities exist within our London, Manchester and Birmingham offices.
