Role:

As a GIS/CAD Draftsman, you will be responsible for leveraging geospatial data and analysis to support various stages of construction projects. Collaborating closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders, you will play a key role in integrating GIS solutions into our construction workflows. Your primary duties will include:

1. Spatial Data Management:
   - Collect, manage, and analyze geographic data relevant to construction projects, including land use, topography, utilities, environmental factors, and regulatory requirements.
   - Develop and maintain GIS databases, ensuring data accuracy, integrity, and accessibility for project teams.

2. Geospatial Analysis:
   - Conduct spatial analysis to inform decision-making processes, such as site selection, route optimization, and resource allocation.
   - Generate maps, models, and visualizations to communicate complex spatial information effectively to project stakeholders.

3. Project Planning and Design:
   - Utilize GIS software and tools to support project planning, design, and feasibility assessments.
   - Identify and evaluate geographic factors that may impact construction activities, proposing solutions to mitigate risks and optimize project outcomes.

4. Environmental Impact Assessment:
   - Assess the environmental impact of construction projects using GIS techniques, including habitat analysis, watershed delineation, and environmental sensitivity mapping.
   - Collaborate with environmental consultants and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements.

5. Stakeholder Engagement:
   - Serve as a subject matter expert on GIS-related matters, providing guidance and support to project teams as needed.
   - Communicate GIS findings and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders through presentations, reports, and interactive mapping tools.

Requirements:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Geography, Geomatics, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience on 10+ years in applying GIS technologies within the construction industry, preferably in areas such as infrastructure development, land development, or urban planning projects.
- Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or similar platforms.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and manipulate complex spatial data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of construction processes, building codes, and regulatory requirements is desirable.
- Certification in GIS (e.g., Esri Technical Certification) is a plus.
