Atkins ME is currently looking for a Head of Building Structures to join their design team in Dubai, UAE or Riyadh, KSA.

Requirements

Degree qualified in a core design discipline (Civil/Structural) from recognised institution Chartered Engineer (or equivalent) Minimum of 10 -15 years of post-graduate professional experience of which 5 will have been in a similar senior position At least 5 years’ experience on multi-disciplinary multi discipline design projects Middle East experience is a must Digitally strong, with experience of technical design software Knowledge of applicable international design standards Working knowledge of Health & Safety best practices in the Middle East Experience of UAE/KSA building design standards would be advantageous Proven experience of leading Structures teams, preferably in multinational companies Sound managerial and technical skill set Excellent communication skills in written and spoken English Ability to liaise with a wide variety of staff and Clients at all levels essential Be able to show Leadership skills and have excellent team building skills Commercial awareness Administrative skills Delegation skills Negotiation and presentation skills Ability to Influence at all levels Preferably have their own client and engineering network in the region

Responsibilities

  • Advising the Head of Buildings, Technical Directors and Project Directors on technical matters in core discipline.

  • Managing quality and technical compliance

  • Monitoring work executed

  • Interface with other disciplines, consultants and contractors.

  • Be an active part of the biding and winning work group
