Head of Project Quality

  • Achieve quality assurance operational objectives by contributing information and analysis to strategic audits and reviews; prepare and complete gap analysis and audit plans; identify and resolve problems; complete audits; determine system improvements; develop and implement quality management systems, and possible training of client staff.
  • Validate supplier quality management processes utilizing established procedures for validating client procedures; document evidence; determine operational and performance qualification; write and update quality assurance procedures.
  • Maintain and improve quality by completing inspections compliance assessments, and staff interview; collaborating with other members of management to develop new means, methods, and training procedures.
  • Plan and participate in visits to various field, offsite, vendor, manufacturing facilities, and office locations.
  • Capable of supporting the preparation of project estimates and proposal and participating in client proposal review meetings.
  • Update job knowledge by studying trends in and developments in quality management; participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining professional networks and participating in professional organizations.
  • Enhance the department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; explores opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Other responsibilities include monitoring the overall QA system for effectiveness and compliance to all system and procedures as well as client requirements. Preparing and revising internal system procedures to maintain compliance with relevant quality system standards.
  • May perform such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.
  • Complexity: Work involves coordination, research, and problem solving on a variety of projects with unique or controversial problems, the solution of which has an important effect on major organization programs.
  • Decision-making: Supervision received is essentially administrative, with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits. Acts without supervision on technical matters.
  • Work direction given to others: Supervises and/or coordinates with other senior technical and support staff.
  • Bachelor's degree in Quality Management, Construction Management, Business Management, Engineering or Technical field required plus a minimum four years’ experience in the field of quality control. Without a degree, eight years of related experience in the field of quality control.
  • Must possess experience in quality assurance/control, developing QMS, and working with inspection/testing/product conformity.
  • Possess the knowledge and ability to effectively conduct different types of audits in a professional, ethical, and objective manner using and interpreting applicable standards/requirements.
  • Ability to effectively plan, develop, communicate, and execute an audit within a defined scope, including resource scheduling, conducting necessary meetings in performance of the audit and using appropriate auditing techniques.
  • Ability to verify, document and communicate audit results, develop an audit report, and evaluate the effectiveness of a corrective action/follow-up.
  • Understanding of how quality principles relate to business protocols and possess the ability to explain the importance of aligning QMS functions to the organization.
  • Possess interpersonal skills to resolve conflict, conduct interviews, and make presentations effectively.
  • Strong process and analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and determine course of action.
  • Strong ability to interact collaboratively with team members and clients.
  • Good organizational and time management skills with ability to perform under pressure and to adjust to changing priorities.
  • Strong networking, interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills required.
  • Requires strong PC skills and ability to work in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio and Project).
  • Strong knowledge of materials management systems preferred.
