The HSE Director, as an esteemed technical authority in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE), is tasked with nurturing a dynamic HSE community, bolstering AtkinsRéalis' standing for outstanding quality, advocating for innovation, and promoting inter-business cooperation. The responsibilities include establishing exemplary practices, advocating for innovative methods, and cultivating relationships with essential stakeholders both within and outside the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Functions

  • Provide guidance, technical expertise, and supervision for the project, aiding project leaders to guarantee a thorough comprehension and execution of all HSE requirements.

  • Promote and help implement a just HSE culture within the PM business in KSA.

  • Contribute to all bids and proposals as part of the PM Win Work team.

  • Represent the company during client presentations, focusing on the HSE aspects of PM service delivery.

  • Assist the PM business during the mobilization phase of new projects by developing HSE plans, manuals, and procedures.

  • Collaborate closely with the corporate HSE function to drive improvements in HSE and develop measures to safeguard AtkinsRéalis staff.

  • Provide support to project managers and senior management in all HSE-related aspects, including the development and delivery of training.

  • Develop and implement HSE reporting tools to measure HSE performance, set Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and drive continual improvement.

  • Ensure monthly reporting is conducted in accordance with AtkinsRéalis procedures, serving as a focal point to gather information from all PM projects.

  • Manage incident reporting in BlueSky according to BlueBook requirements, ensuring investigations are completed and lessons learned are shared.

  • Develop resourcing plans for HSE staff on PM projects across KSA, ensuring recruitment of competent HSE resources.

  • Serve as line manager for all project based HSE resources within the PM business in KSA.

  • Implement BlueBook standards, including Corporate Responsibility and Compliance Principles (CRCP) and all aspects of the Global HSE Management System (GHSEMS).

  • Act as an ambassador for AtkinsRéalis values and promote best practices. Provide expertise to ensure comprehensive HSE risk assessments are conducted for PM staff in KSA.

  • Support senior operational management within KSA in conducting leadership tours and advising on HSE matters.

People Development

  • Mentor project managers within the PM business in KSA to enhance their leadership in HSE.

  • Integrate Thrive principles into interactions with all senior management and project managers.

  • Identify and support HSE collaborators within the PM business in KSA to foster HSE improvements.

  • Mentor and assist in the development of HSE personnel as needed.

  • Foster interest and understanding of HSE among KSA nationals in line with AtkinsRéalis HSEW requirements.

Stakeholder Management

  • Engage with operational management within the PM business in KSA to promote core HSE values through various forums.

  • Establish oneself as a significant industry contributor on safety matters through public speaking and media publications.

  • Collaborate closely with regulatory authorities, municipalities, and ministries to promote AtkinsRéalis as an industry leader in Health, Safety, and Welfare (HSW).

  • Build strong relationships with client project management and HSE management staff in KSA.
