Junior Structural and Fuel Channel Analyst/Engineer

Location - Mississauga, ON

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

  • Design analysis of CANDU reactor components, systems and structures including mechanical equipment.

  • Engineering calculations to support design nuclear pressure boundary components.

  • Preparation of formal technical reports.

  • Review of design documents, calculations, and analysis reports.

  • Prepare engineering budgets and support proposal preparation.

  • Execute engineering activities within budget and schedule.

  • Provide accurate reporting of engineering work to technical and project managers.

  • Provide prompt response and engineering resolutions on any critical engineering related matters.

  • Perform engineering work following SNC-Lavalin/Candu Energy Quality Assurance programs, and applicable codes, standards, and regulation requirements.

  • Coordinate and interface with client, suppliers, stakeholders and other design disciplines or department to execute assigned engineering work.

The ideal candidate:

  • A Bachelor’s or Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) from a university of recognized standing.

  • Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate problem-solving skills.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.

  • Experienced in the interpretation of GD&T.

  • Drive for continuous learning by own initiative.

  • Experience in classical stress calculation.

  • Experience in finite element analysis using ANSYS/LS-DYNA/ABAQUS.

  • Familiarity with ASME Section III pressure boundary design.

  • Good time management skills.
