Knowledge and Experience:

The FMO will drive the implementation and management of all the FM and O&M projects of Riyadh Green of which the Project Neighborhoods Facilities Manager will be responsible to adept at developing policies and procedures necessary to ensure built assets are adequately maintained.

Experienced in the delivery, management, and supervision of a full range of FM Services in particular Landscaping and Irrigation services. Good working knowledge of technical matters.

The Neighborhood Manager needs to have extensive experience in Hard and Soft Landscaping Management as well as all the FM related management skills required, for Green Riyadh project.

The Neighborhood Facilities Manager specializing in hard and soft landscaping management oversees the maintenance, enhancement, and development of landscaping. This role involves coordinating both hard (hardscaping) and soft (planting) landscaping elements to create attractive, functional, and sustainable outdoor spaces. The manager is responsible for ensuring that landscaping projects meet established standards, enhance park values, and contribute to the overall quality of life within neighborhoods.

Responsibilities:

Hard Landscaping Management:

  • Plan, design, and oversee the installation of hardscaping elements and decorative features.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors to procure materials, obtain permits, and execute hardscaping projects according to specifications and budgetary constraints.
  • Conduct regular inspections to assess the condition of hardscaping structures and identify maintenance or repair needs.

Soft Landscaping Management:

  • Develop planting plans and landscaping designs to enhance the aesthetic appeal and ecological diversity of neighborhood green spaces.
  • Select appropriate plant species based on site conditions, climate considerations, and aesthetic preferences.
  • Oversee the installation of trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation, ensuring proper planting techniques and maintenance practices.

Landscape Maintenance:

  • Establish and implement landscape maintenance schedules to ensure the ongoing health and vitality of plantings and hardscaping features.
  • Coordinate irrigation systems, fertilization programs, pruning schedules, and pest management strategies to promote plant growth and vitality.
  • Monitor landscape health and address issues such as disease, pest infestations, and environmental stressors.

Budget Management:

  • Develop and manage budgets for landscaping projects and maintenance activities, including cost estimation, expense tracking, and financial reporting.​
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to maximize the efficiency of landscaping operations while maintaining quality standards.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with local regulations, zoning ordinances, and environmental guidelines governing landscaping practices and land use.
  • Obtain necessary permits and approvals for landscaping projects, as required by regulatory authorities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture, Horticulture, Environmental Science, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 7 years’ experience or master’s degree with 3 years’ experience.
  • Required: Read, Write and converse in English with clear natural sound. Beneficial spoken Arabic
  • Previous experience in landscape design, installation, and maintenance, with a focus on both hard and soft landscaping elements.
  • Knowledge of Hard and Soft Services Management.
  • Experience in contract management.
  • Knowledge of QHSE and legislative requirements.
  • Knowledge of sustainability.
  • LEED knowledge is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of landscaping principles, horticultural practices, and janitorial procedures.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Leadership abilities, including the capacity to supervise staff and coordinate with external service providers.
  • Familiarity with waste management practices, including recycling and composting initiatives.
  • Customer service orientation, with a commitment to providing an exceptional visitor experience.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office and facility management software.

Physical Requirements:

  • Physical ability to perform outdoor work, including lifting, bending, and operating landscaping equipment, as needed.

  • Very strong teamwork and customer service skills with ability to quickly develop client and supplier relationships.
