Role Summary
 

As AtkinsRéalis Australia embarks on expansion into other markets, this role will be an integral part of accelerating a Defence business in Australia. Supported by a mature global team running multiple nuclear and non-nuclear defence projects, the successful candidate will benefit from guidance and experience of technical leads from other parts of the global business.
 

The Platform Systems Engineer will also be responsible for connecting with global technical teams to deliver local engineering solutions across all elements of a defence platform’s lifecycle.
 

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with diverse customers and stakeholders to deliver engineering solutions

• Provide Engineering support for design, construction and maintenance of defence platforms in line with stakeholder requirements and timeframes

• Contribute to the development of complex project proposals and participate in the process of securing new business opportunities or expanding the scope of existing projects

• Produce safety and technical risk assessments

• Forecast monitor and report upon engineering performance and to identify and mitigate technical and project risks.

• Develop global relationships with AtkinsRéalis technical teams to deliver global experience locally
   

Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities

• Tertiary engineering qualification

• Chartered Professional Engineer

• Hold or eligible to obtain Australian Government security clearance

• A good understanding of the Australian government defence ecosystem

• Experience in design, construction, and support of defence platform systems

• An excellent communicator, verbal (active listener) and written (able to write concisely)
