AtkinsRealis are currently looking for Project Delivery Director in Abu Dhabi, UAE who will be responsible for the overall management of all aspects of a project with the focus on time, cost and quality to ensure that Client's Projects are delivered to the highest possible standards and set the bar for the management of the housing project portfolio in Abu Dhabi.
The Project Director is responsible for the coordination of all Client departments, external consultants, Authorities, Contractors, operators, Facilities and Asset management. Will be leading the Project department's team assigned to the housing project portfolio, the Project Director will manage the portfolio of strategic residential projects across, optimizing time, cost and quality between each project.
The Project Director will be responsible for developing (With Head of Delivery) the project delivery
strategy, which sets out the plan for project success, budgets, program and procurement strategy to ensure that each project has a defined plan and that the plans are implemented accordingly.:
Roles and Responsibilities:
Assist the design and delivery teams in writing the project brief for purposes of inviting requests for tender from consultants.
Develop and implement Specific project execution / management plans for each development to ensure that the projects have a specific Design, Risk, Communication, Commercial, Procurement & HSSE plan.
Work closely with the Project teams in the procurement of project consultants to ensure that the appropriate project teams for each project are established.
Manage external consultants for allocated projects to ensure that they fulfill their contractual obligations to the agreed programs, ensuring that the product produced by the consultants meets our brief, budgets and development criteria.
Produce development delivery strategies for each allocated project and present these to the Executive
Director for Delivery and where required the CEO.
Develop early works opportunities on each project and as part of the overall delivery strategies to ensure that all opportunities to advance works on site have been realized.
Chair/ facilitate Value Engineering on all projects at key milestones to ensure that maximum value opportunities have been realized through the development process and best value for money achieved.
Manage / facilitate risk management procedures and processes with the HSE manager, inhouse design team, consultants and contracture to ensure that Client is aware of all risks, mitigated where possible, or managed the risk so that any potential impact on the performance of our projects is minimal.
Coordinate with project control department and allocated staff on program, change control, claims on each project.
Coordinate with Client Procurement department on all commercial issues on each project to ensure that due process and contractual obligations have been followed and that optimum commercial out turn position is realized.
Coordinate with Stakeholder management to ensure effective and expedient management of all Statutory approvals is achieved for each project.
Direct and supervise Project Directors to ensure that they are optimizing project performance.
Manage all Client end user clients ensuring that they are fully informed of project performance and status with real time reporting.
Ensure that all Client HSSE policies and procedures are fully integrated in each project.
Monitor all payments to contractors and consultants ensuring that there are no delays certifying payments by the inhouse design and delivery teams or by the Lead consultant or supervision consultants at site.
Take appropriate action on poorly performing projects. Provided detailed reports on areas of concern, impact on the particular project and the mitigation strategy proposed for rectification of poorly performing projects.
Closely monitor all potential change requests ensuring they are escalated to the executive Director and uploaded to the appropriate workflow streams for review and or approval.
Closely manage all project conflict to ensure that project performance is not hindered.
Ensure that all weekly, Fortnightly and Monthly reports are generated by the consultants, contractors and Client internal project staff on a real time basis and issued to the appropriate Executive Management at the required times.
Oversee the quality control of all elements within each allocated project, inclusive of design, mockups and final construction.
Ensure overall responsibility over their allocated project teams for the technical performance of the project, ensuring design defects and construction defects are address in an effective manner.
Take the lead role in coordinating with all Client teams that have an impact on Project performance and ensure that all internal stakeholders are effectively managed, and their requirements (where possible) are incorporated within each project.
Ensure the handover of projects to asset management, operators and clients is undertaken in an effective manner, all training is undertaken, all maintenance procedures and requirements are understood and that the asset is formally accepted by Client clients.
Ensure the defect liability period inspections and resulting rectification works are managed in an effective manner and agreed in advance with Client end users and clients.
Ensure any defect out with the defect liability period are managed by their project staff and coordinated with the Client end users and clients.
Undertake and issue lessons learned from all completed projects and ensure that they are integrated into Client systems and procedures.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Building Systems Engineering, Architectural Engineering, Marine Engineering or equivalent.
Preferred Skills and Competencies
15 years Industry Experience as a minimum with 5 years at Director level or above. Must have experience with Major Consultants and preferably Development companies and must have delivered at least 3 major project similar to the current project requirements.
