We are seeking a to join our team in the position of Project Director - Water Infrastructure , our Alexandria, VA Office. This role can be a hybrid work schedule (combination of working remotely and in the office). \About Us

How will you contribute to the team?
- Key point of contact for the Client, actively managing and ensuring consistency of delivery and compliance with standards.
- Providing leadership to core delivery teams, driving change and monitoring performance of project managers, business partners and contractors.
- Support business development activities and proposal development.
- Plan and drive change on programs of work and working with the Client to ensure these are delivered to meet expectations in improved performance.
- Provide QA/QC functions and expert advice for complex projects.
- Define clear lines of communication and responsibilities, coordinate multi-disciplinary teams to ensure efficient use of resources and production of cost-effective solutions.
- Identify and manage risk.
- Ensure compliance of our management activities and advice.
- Work with the Client to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and apply these to the ongoing pipeline of work orders.
- Serve as project manager for multiple water and wastewater infrastructure projects. Define scope and fee and conduct contract negotiations with Clients and Sub-consultants.
- Prepare project work plans and define project deliverables. Lead or manage the preparation of preliminary design reports, final construction documents, and permit applications.
What will you contribute?
- Bachelor's degree in field of practice. Graduate degree preferred. Management coursework
- and/or MBA a plus.
- This level may be achieved by technical professionals or managers with twelve years of experience since B.S. or eleven years since M.S., with at least three of these years in a Senior Project Manager position with highly complex project management responsibility.
- Active member of professional societies.
- Able to demonstrate strong leadership with experience of building and managing diverse, collaborative teams, and working collaboratively as an individual.
- Understanding of technical, quality and safety processes, with proven experience in delivering programs of water and wastewater utility projects.
- Commercial management experience, able to support pricing and estimating activities, monitor cost and schedule performance with a good understanding of the collaborative and alternative delivery contracts and the embedded principles of collaborative working.
- Professional Engineering license in Virginia is required (or the ability to obtain reciprocity within 6 months of start).
- A minimum of ten years of technical experience in the water and wastewater industry is required.
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills.

Expected compensation range is between $127,000 - $180,000 annually OR $61.00 - $86.00 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
Upon acceptance of an offer, all candidates must go through a drug screen test and background check. AtkinsRéalis is a federal contractor which mandates a satisfactory background screening report and drug test that supersedes state laws.
