We are hiring! AtkinsRéalis seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Calverton, MD office as a Project Director.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Under general direction, supports the management and delivery of FEMA Risk MAP program projects across various contracts and clients.
• Projects typically involve high levels of FEMA, State, or local community agency involvement and prescribe schedules.
• Typical projects might include large watershed modeling, detail watershed modeling, Base Level Engineering, floodplain mapping, levee analysis, coastal flood modeling or regulatory processing of FEMA studies, mitigation, resilience, dam safety, outreach, etc.
• Provides leadership, direction, and technical guidance to senior project managers and project managers within assigned area of responsibility to ensure that quality, cost, and schedule of project services are provided to clients and that operating performance targets are met.
• Mentors senior project managers and project managers associated with these types of projects.
• Management assignments typically involve management and oversight of various FEMA Programs, FEMA projects and TO’s.
• Projects might include but not limited to large watershed modeling, detail watershed modeling, Base Level Engineering, floodplain mapping, levee analysis, coastal flood modeling or regulatory processing of FEMA studies, mitigation, resilience, dam safety, outreach, etc.

What will you contribute?

• Bachelor's degree in field of practice. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus.
• This level may be achieved by technical professionals or managers with twelve years of experience since B.S. or ten years since M.S., with at least three of these years in the Senior Project Manager position with highly complex project management responsibility.
• Excellent technical and interpersonal skills, public speaking and persuasive ability; very strong financial management, team management, and leadership skills; ability to manage and coordinate efforts of various projects to produce budgeted profits and overall results. Possesses specific expertise to the extent that the individual is regarded as a regional or potentially national expert in a specific discipline, contract delivery method, particular type of project, planning process, design method, or modeling technique. Personal computer proficiency is required.
• Professional registration or certification in field of practice if applicable, e.g., P.E., A.I.C.P., R.A., R.L.A, etc.   Ability to obtain Certification as a “Project Management Professional” (PMP) or “Certified Construction Manager” (CCM) required within one year of assuming this position.

Expected compensation range is between $180,000 - $250,000 USD Annually depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.

Upon acceptance of an offer, all candidates must go through a drug screen test and background check. AtkinsRéalis is a federal contractor which mandates a satisfactory background screening report and drug test that supersedes state laws.
