We are seeking a Project Engineer to join our renewables energy team! This role requires the candidate to be at the project construction site 3 weeks a month on a rotational schedule.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Provides technical and engineering support to other functional groups within the organization as required to achieve the goal of the project

  • Work closely with outside design and EPC contractors, engineering firms, manufacturers, fabricators, vendors, and manage contractor provided services related to the project's process technology by providing instructions, revision, inspection, or approvals for the specified scope of work.

  • Manage the RFI process – review and transmit requests for information regarding designs and engineering work and, when possible, respond to technical RFIs in the field, or escalate to design engineering firm.

  • Liaison between all project parties and engineering providers including facilitating timely RFI responses.

  • Technical expertise and RFI management: provide technical support to the construction team, including interpreting project plans and specifications, resolving technical issues, and coordinating with design and engineering teams.

  • Responsible for technical execution of the scope of work within their assigned area and confirm construction activities are carried out according to project schedule, budget, technical specifications, and quality and safety standards.

  • Responsible for interfacing between contractors and the clients on matters related to design and construction by managing technical RFIs in the field.

  • Support the procurement process for equipment - specification validation, cost management, schedule oversight, fabrication / installation quality acceptance.

  • Oversight of baseline quantities and management to maintain these quantities through execution.

  • Work closely with the project team to identify and resolve technical issues that may arise during construction activities.

  • Manage interface between engineering, procurement, and construction to maintain a positive work environment.

  • Execution coordination alignment with process design.

  • Lead coordination between project construction and process design teams to ensure the project meets the objectives while aligning with process design expectations.

  • Oversee project execution via ensuring timely completion of action items to achieve project established milestones.

  • Provide inputs to overall schedule development and management in relation to discipline engineering, procurement, and project development for the area of responsibility.

  • Maintain overall knowledge of project schedule and understanding of key activities that support on schedule execution of the project.

  • Support the project in interpreting design drawings / documents, monitoring equipment installation.

  • Conduct site inspections of construction work and materials and review contractor records, ensuring that they meet design specifications, quality, and safety standards.

  • Coordinate with project stakeholders, including project team, subcontractors, and suppliers, to ensure that construction activities are carried out according to project requirements.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus four years relevant experience.
  • 10+ years' experience in the construction industry with experience in the energy sector; preferably renewable energy
  • Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision making abilities. 
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must have ability to navigate Web-based construction management software (often provided by the client). 
  • Must have experience with setting meetings, organizing agendas, and keeping minutes for projects records.
  • Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
