Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our team in Atlanta, GA as a Project Manager - Highway Engineering.

MAJOR FUNCTION/ROLE

Under general direction, provides technical expertise within Highway/Roadway projects for diverse engineering activities throughout the assigned area of responsibility and/or company-wide. May function as a project manager, engineer-of-record, or technical consultant. Upholds engineering ethics and standards of conduct.

JOB DUTIES

Work involves coordination, teamwork, research and problem solving on a variety of Highway/Roadway engineering projects with unique or controversial problems.
May serve as a project manager on projects requiring oversight of project teams, regular and direct coordination with clients, and responsibility for oversight of project schedules and financials.
May provide a supervisory role and oversee staff members with an emphasis in development of their careers and advancement of their technical abilities, skills and knowledge.
Work may involve project pursuits, presentations and development of marketing proposals.
Performs such other duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in field(s) of practice. Graduate degree desirable. management coursework and/or MBA a plus. This level may be achieved with 8 years experience in project production and technical professional activities, two of these working as a Sr. Technical Professional.

SPECIAL SKILLS

Strong technical writing and communications skills are expected at this level, proven through technical presentations, technical papers and/or participation in technical committees.
Proven technical writing and communication skills.
Strong MicroStation and OpenRoads experience required with strong 3-D modeling skills preferred.
Strong background in transportation plans development and a detailed understanding of GDOT standards and procedure preferred.
Alternative Delivery experience desired.
Proven technical writing and communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to work and interact in a team environment. Incumbent may be eligible for project management training.
CAD and design software proficiency required, Microstation and OpenRoads is preferred.

PROFESSIONAL REGISTRATIONS

Professional Registration in field of practice preferred if available.
