We are hiring! AtkinsRealis is seeking an energetic, self-starting, and collaborative Environmental Scientist to join our EcoSciences team in Orlando. You will work with a diverse team of experts on public and private projects in Florida and throughout the US in both the field and office environment.

How will you contribute to the team?

• Assist and/or conduct natural resource field investigations, including but not limited to identification of waters of the United States, including wetland delineations; threatened and endangered species coordination; habitat evaluations; mitigation monitoring.
• Prepares technical reports and permit applications in support of projects. Will be expected to contribute to the preparation of local, state, and federal environmental permits and compliance monitoring requirements.
• Monitors, coordinates and/or provides direction on quality control efforts within area of responsibility.
• Prepare scopes of work and cost proposals for simple to mid-sized work efforts.
• May fiscally and technically manage minor projects and direct field teams and junior staff.
• Prepares project work plan, scope, schedule and budget, and communicates these to project team members; monitors/manages project production for compliance with schedule, budget and quality objectives.

What will you contribute?

• BS in Biology, Ecology, Botany, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with federal (USACE), State, and Local environmental regulations.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to develop technical writing, computer & communication skills.
• Knowledge of production support systems such as geographic information systems (GIS).
• Direct experience and knowledge of Florida’s Ecosystem (vegetation ID, soil, hydrology).
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience.
• Professional registrations – Nice to have Professional Wetland Scientist or FWC gopher tortoise agent certification.
• Travel will be required (~20%). Ability to trailer and operate equipment is a plus (boat, UTV, etc.)
• Familiarity with Florida Department of Transportation contamination documentation and processes for transportation projects.
• Provide in-house client support as needed.
