We are seeking a Security Officer Energy to join our Oak Ridge, TN office.

How will you contribute to the team?  

  • Performs routine patrols of grounds, buildings, vehicles and water lines to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure the security/operation of alarm systems, lights, doors and windows.

  • Warns persons of rule infractions or violations.

  • Monitors controls that regulate building systems, such as HVAC and backup generator.

  • Reports security/safety issues (e.g., lighting, locks and badge readers).

  • Maintains compliance with security procedures and ensures completion of visitor logs, as required.

  • Documents emergency information, notifies outside emergency services, site contacts and site personnel as required.

  • Investigates security-related incidents and reports them to security staff.

  • Circulates among visitors, patrons and employees to preserve order and protect property. Observes activity and traffic in assigned areas to enforce rules and regulations; alerts visitors of infractions.

  • Provides safety and security briefing, when instructed by management.

  • Issues visitor/escort badges in accordance with the control of visitors procedure.

  • Monitors closed-circuit television, receives mail/packages and deliveries, and answers telephone calls to take messages, answer questions and provide information during business hours.

  • Make, print, enroll company badges; terminate employee access, when directed by management.

  • Helps to s ensure the facility is complying with best OPSEC practices.

  • Coordinates with contracted vendors for facility services (i.e., shredding services, vending coffee/water service, cleaning, copiers, First Aid Kits/AED monthly maintenance).

  • Direct liaison with landlord for maintenance requests and coordinates repairs as needed.

  • Performs frequent Facility Walkdown to ensure safety of the building for tenants and visitors, and quickly identifies and corrects any found issues.

  • Performs monthly inspection of fire extinguishers, generator, and elevator.

  • Closely works the ES&H Manager and other facility tenants to maintain and implement the FSP (Facility Safety Plan).

  • Participates in the Facility Safety Committee and acts as a Floor Warden.

  • Maintain safety and accessibility of facility for tenant and visitor access during regular business hours.

  • Performs other duties as assigned at the direction of security management.

  • Must be able to walk, run, stand, climb, and sit for extended periods of time.

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. waist high, if required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What will you contribute?  

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • 1-3 years’ security related experience.

  • Intermediate verbal and written communication skills.

  • Intermediate knowledge of basic security and fire inspection procedures.

  • Intermediate interpersonal skills and team player attitude.

  • General knowledge of the use of Microsoft Office products required to perform job (Word, Excel and Outlook).

  • Ability to pass background investigationsAbility to work under general supervision.

  • Possession of a valid driver’s license with a clean record.

  • Ability to perform frequent walking, lifting, bending, sitting, squatting, standing, climbing, kneeling, and handling objects; frequent reaching above shoulder levels; frequent carrying and lifting loads from 25 to 50 pounds.

  • 1-3 years facility management experience preferred.

  • Must be a U.S citizen in order to be considered.
