We are looking for Senior Civil /Structural Engineers with Infrastructure design and Substation design experience to undertake engineering design roles for projects in the Power sector primarily in the UK and Middle East. The candidate shall have experience in preparing Design Basis Reports based client specifications, Designing of HV substation equipment support structures, GIS buildings, Control Rooms Transformer bunds and foundations. This is a great opportunity for a suitably qualified person with an engineering consultancy or energy sector background to gain further experience within an internationally renowned consultancy.

This position is for the Networks team within the infrastructure vertical at Gurgaon.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for but not limited to the following:

• Broad knowledge of Civil Engineering components of Power, Transmission & Distribution Project.
• Sound understanding of technical principles underlying civil engineering, particularly civil engineering structures, foundation and equipment foundations related to Power Business – Including Generation and Power Networks.
• Awareness of current international design codes and standards, especially BS and Euro codes.
• Preparation of design basis reports and perform structural design calculations based on same.
• Experience of working with STAAD or any similar analysis/ design package.
• Capable of reviewing General arrangement drawing, RC detailed drawings, Bar Bending schedule etc.
• Experience in design of both RC and steel structures. Must have worked on Pile foundations.
• Experience in design of connections.
• Experience in preparing calculation in Excel spreadsheets.
• Calculation using Mathcad will be an added advantage.
• Must be able to demonstrate review of works carried out by Junior team members.

Responsibilities:

• Strong conceptualization ability, strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills are a must, including the capability to explain complex technical issues to decision-makers and project teams. Candidate must have good oral and written communication skills, be willing to travel, and work successfully in a customer focused, project-oriented environment.

Mandatory Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering with minimum 8 years’ of relevant industrial experience.
• Thorough knowledge Civil engineering fundamentals and concepts for Transmission, distribution and generation segments.
• Understand engineering concepts and capable of interfacing with different departments.
• Capability to produce good quality drawings, design calculations, technical reports and specifications.
• Must have working knowledge on BIM environment.

Desirable Requirements:

• Experience in use of one or all the following software tools will be an added advantage.
• STAAD Pro, ETABS, Autodesk ROBOT or any other similar design package.
