Candu Energy Inc./ AtkinsRéalis Nuclear Inc. is actively seeking qualified Electrical 3D Modeler / CAD Designer to support engineering roles for nuclear projects in major areas, such as, new build in the province of Ontario, international new builds, refurbishment, and continuous plant operation support modifications for nuclear power plants.

How will you contribute to the team?

•Develop database driven intelligent 3D electrical models, for new and existing nuclear facilities.

•From 3D models, prepare 2D drawings, general arrangements, raceway, cable schedules, tray fill, quantities, and other electrical engineering deliverables.

•Manipulate and analyze models and drawings received from third parties such equipment vendors.

•Actively contribute to project design development by collaborating closely with multidisciplinary project teams and stakeholders.

•Proficiency and knowledge in electrical drafting to produce and review single line diagrams, electrical wiring diagrams, cable schedules, panel layouts, electrical layout drawings, installation details, and equipment lists.

•Produce coordinated outputs and quality deliverables within a multidisciplinary project team in accordance with the AtkinsRéalis standards and procedures.

•Undertake self-checks and perform technical assurance checks of work undertaken by the team, ensuring work produced is technically accurate and delivered in accordance with the appropriate standards.

•Participate in reviews such as 3D model reviews, interdisciplinary design reviews, vendor document reviews, walkthroughs, and operability and maintainability reviews.

What will you contribute?

•Technical College graduate in drafting technology and three to six years’ experience, or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

•Technical proficiency and 10+ years of experience in the use of at least one of the common industry 3D, CAD, and BIM design software packages: Autodesk (Revit, Plant 3D), Bentley (MicroStation, Navisworks, Bentley View),Smartplant,etc.

•Support the creation, development, and reviews of 3D models and associated data within a multidisciplinary team.

•Preparing complete drawings, charts, and diagrams of moderate to high complexity to quality standards.

•Experienced in producing electrical deliverables such as layouts, arrangements, single line diagrams, wiring diagrams, cable routing, cable schedules, equipment lists, and other electrical drawings.

•Proficiency in standard drafting techniques, procedures, and equipment.

•Technical awareness/knowledge of engineering design and construction issuesis an asset.

•Ability to retrieve, analyze and update data customer cabling, raceway, and wiring databases such as On-Line Wiring, IntEC, or other industry standard software is an asset.

•Knowledge of industry codes and standards such as OESC, CEC, and CSA are an asset.

•Dedicated team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.

•Ability to collaborate successfully within a project and team environment as well as to work independently with minimal supervision.

•Technical supervision of others may be required, as well as providing advice and consultation to others.

•Experience in a project dynamic, team-oriented EPC team oriented environment.

•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

•Flexible and engaging with resilience, drive, and self-motivation.

•Responsible for own performance in terms of quality, budget, and schedule.

•Aware of safety requirements in the nuclear industry.

•Eligible for Canadian Security Clearance and able to perform site walk downs
