Senior Estimator(Electrical/Instrumentation/Communication)

Senior Cost Estimating Engineer Responsibilities:

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists the Lead Cost Estimating Engineer to coordinate with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Cost Estimating Engineers to ensure correct implementation of cost estimating procedures and requirements.

• Reviews and closely monitors the development of the cost estimate to ensure objectives are met. • Prepares all types of estimates from inception to completion and review.

• Prepares estimates of certain disciplines or trades. • Forecasts and monitors work packages and contracts. • Advises on construction methods and engineering economics. • Proposes units to be used and prepares the justification for their use.

• Evaluates and recommends allowances for design unknowns, escalation, and contingency and fee structure to the department.

• Obtains approval of unit costs to be used, content of analysis, and reports from the project control manager or department manager.

• Researches on cost & productivity trends.

• Evaluates scope changes, contract values, cost trend impacts, field orders and trade-off studies.

AUTHORITY/LEADERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing technical guidance to co-workers.

• Organizing and supervising work within a small work unit composed of employees within own discipline or a related area of specialization.

• Determining the training and development needs of employees.

Requirements:

• BS in Electrical/Instrumentation/Communication/Electronics Engineering with 10 years of significant experience.

• Has experience in the oil/gas, hydrocarbon, refinery, offshore, or infrastructure industries and has cost estimating experience on large to mega projects.

• Must have thorough knowledge of cost estimating practices, calculation methods/software, standards, and procedures.

• General understanding of schedules.

• Aspen Capital Cost Estimator (KBASE) experience
