Job Title: Senior HSE Engineer

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Engineer to join our team for site operations in the UAE. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HSE management, excellent leadership abilities, and the capacity to effectively engage with clients. This position requires a candidate of Arabic nationality who can attend face-to-face client interviews in the UAE.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain HSE policies, procedures, and guidelines for site operations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and company standards.
  • Lead HSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to HSE teams, fostering a culture of safety awareness and accountability.
  • Conduct thorough investigations of incidents, accidents, and near misses, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with project management and subcontractors to address HSE concerns and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Monitor and analyze HSE performance metrics, preparing regular reports for management review and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in HSE management, and incorporate relevant updates into company policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company in meetings with clients, regulatory authorities, and other stakeholders, demonstrating professionalism and expertise in HSE matters.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 25 years of experience in HSE management, with significant experience in the UAE.
  • Proven track record of leading successful HSE programs in construction or industrial settings.
  • Strong understanding of UAE HSE regulations and standards, including ADNOC, OSHAD, and other relevant guidelines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in Arabic and English.
  • Certified Health and Safety Professional (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) preferred.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability and experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and HSE management software.
