AtkinsRéalis is hiring a Senior Manager, Utilities, to support the Green Line LRT Project. The Green Line LRT (light rail transit) Project is the largest infrastructure investment in Calgary’s history. At 10-kms, it comes with $6.2billion in commitments from the Government of Canada, Government of Alberta and The City of Calgary. The Green Line LRT is designed to be both a transit system and a platform for future city building opportunities.  It encourages redevelopment and investment in Calgary businesses and communities.

Location – Calgary, Alberta

Your role within the team:

  • Provide oversight and supervision of the design and implementation of utilities work at specific interfaces within the project jurisdiction.
  • Lead a team of utility design engineers to execute deliverables with respect to the utility interfaces.
  • Review and respond to RFIs and construction submittals associated with the ongoing utilities work, with the support of the utilities engineering team, including changes proposed by the CM contractor and provided required input for acceptance.
  • Coordinate design and construction activities including participation in weekly technical team meetings and racking record of ongoing changes (design/contract).
  • Review interdependencies and construction sequencing to avoid scheduling issues between contractors (deep and shallow) including review of submissions and identify compliance with requirements.
  • Coordination with the City Business Units (Mobility, Water) and other stakeholders (CMLC, CSEC etc.) and assist with change management and monthly invoice review.
  • Liaise with third party stakeholders with regards to the Utilities scope of work including project personnel to report on status and progress of the Utilities scope.

The ideal candidate:

  • Holds Professional Engineer (P.Eng) status or equivalent.
  • Holds a degree (or higher) in a relevant subject such as Civil or Electrical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 20 years of related experience a similar role.
  • Previous experience working on major transportation projects liaising with stakeholders.
