AtkinsRéalis has an exciting full-time career opportunity for an Electrical Engineer of 8+ years’ experience to build a career in Power Systems, Transmission and Distribution. The resource will report to our Toronto, ON (Canada) center of excellence. The candidate will work in a fast-paced consulting environment with excellent career growth opportunities.

Location: Toronto, ON. However, candidate can be based anywhere in Canada and open to remote working if we don't have an office in that city.

Your role within the team:

• Define the scope and budget for power system studies mandates.
• Perform/review following Power systems studies:
  • Substation grounding & lightning studies.
  • Substation Bus studies
  • Electromagnetic Transient Studies
  • AC interference on pipelines and railway infrastructure from power lines and substation ground grids
  • Cable Sizing Studies.
• Prepare detailed engineering drawings.
• Must have excellent command over following Software tools: CDEGS, ETAP, WinIGS, CYMCAP, ASPEN OneLiner and PSCAD.
• Planning, scheduling, and estimation and engineering coordination with other disciplines.
• Attend design review and constructability meetings with customers and represent system studies discipline.
• Mentor Junior resources in use of power system software modeling and conducting studies.

The ideal candidate:

• Self-starter with 8+ years of experience in power system studies.
• University Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent discipline.
• Registered or eligible to register with any Canadian or US Professional Engineers Associations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of French is an asset.
• SES Tech CDEGS Level II or III certification is an asset.
• Working knowledge in AutoCAD, MicroStation, PSS/E, PowerFactory DigSILENT is an asset.
• Hand on experience with soil resistivity, Ground impedance measurements, power quality measurements, is an asset
