Technical Administrator – Technology Team

Part Time – 25 hrs per week
 
The Technology Team based in Trowbridge, Wiltshire, primarily provides Street Lighting and Traffic Signal asset management services for Wiltshire Council and monitors maintenance and fault rectification works carried out by the Council’s Maintenance Contractor.
 
Covering the County of Wiltshire and working with our Client, Wiltshire Council, a variety of work will be experienced in serving the citizens, communities and road users of Wiltshire. Key to supporting the team and delivering these services will be your strong Customer Service focus and approach.
 
Reporting to the Technology Team Leader, primarily you will be supporting the Street Lighting and Traffic Signals Team with general clerical and technical administration duties.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Answering telephone enquiries and monitoring the Street Lighting and Traffic Signal Team’s generic email inboxes acknowledging, responding or referring enquiries to an appropriate person within the team
  • Assisting the team with general office duties such as document scanning, printing, filing, updating and maintaining records/systems
  • Assisting the Office Manager with General Office Admin / Reception support 
  • With further training, you will assist the Technology Team by:
  • Monitoring the Customer Services Enquiry System and acknowledging, responding or referring enquiries as appropriate and ensuring enquiries are closed out in a timely manner
  • Maintaining records within “Mayrise” an Asset Management / Database software programme used to manage the Street Lighting asset
  • Raising jobs and faults for repair by the Maintenance Contractors
  • Cross referencing and checking of fault repair / install reports
  • Carrying out electronic enquiries for statutory utility equipment / services within the Highway
  • Responding to equipment enquiries received from external third parties.


Requirements:
 
Qualifications:
  • GSCE’s grades A – C, or
  • Have or be working towards NVQ Level 3
Essential Criteria:
  • Good customer care, organisational, written and verbal communication skills
  • T / Computer literate with proven experience in the use of Windows and MS Office Suite for Outlook, Word and Excel
Desirable Criteria:
  • IT / Computer literate – user/reader of GIS/Map Explorer software or similar
  • Full UK Driving Licence with willingness to carry out occasional site visits using Pool vehicles provided by Atkins

  • Strong customer focus with excellent customer service skills
  • Strong organisational skills and a team player able to work within a busy open plan office
  • Professional and conscientious with an eye for detail
  • Interest in Technology
