We are Hiring! Atkins seeks an energetic and highly motivated self-starter to join our Dallas, TX team as a Project Director. Under direction, develops concepts and leads teams in Toll Systems, payment systems, and systems implementation.  Applies expert knowledge of leading-edge information and communication technologies, planning, design, and operation of Toll back offices. Carries out job functions within project-oriented multidisciplinary teams of Toll professionals and directs interaction with clients within the context of project progress meetings, design reviews, operations, and project production and deployment.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Manage IT systems' projects deliverables, schedules, milestones, and contracts.
  • Assignments require leading the investigation of a large number of variables and the development of novel solutions to back office systems. Duties usually include the following:
  • Develops guidelines for the application of state-of-art Toll system technologies and Toll operations principles to programs and projects.
  • Develops Toll design concepts and solutions to Toll problems, including plans and criteria for new projects.
  • Oversees changes or improvements to plans and programs.
  • Manages the evaluation of alternative approaches, technology capabilities, previous experience with Toll system deployments, cost benefits, and client/regulatory agency specifications, and recommends cost-effective solutions.
  • Develops and agrees on outline deliverables. Delivers presentations, communicates concepts and deliverables to clients, and conducts quality control checks.
  • May perform other such duties as the supervisor may from time to time deem necessary.

Carries out complex or novel assignments requiring diversified knowledge and practic in back offices.

DECISION-MAKING (Supervision received; independent judgment or initiative; consequence of error):

Consistently exercises initiative and independent judgment. Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters. Consults with supervisor concerning unusual problems and developments.

WORK DIRECTION GIVEN TO OTHERS (Titles and number of personnel; type of direction given):

Supervises the work of senior professionals and support staff.

INTERNAL CONTACTS (Required interaction/relationship with others within the organization):

Interfaces with senior technical and operational managers, and administrative staff as necessary.

EXTERNAL CONTACTS (Required interaction/relationship with others outside the organization):

Represents the organization in conferences and negotiations with clients and/or regulatory agencies.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor's degree in field of practice. Graduate degree preferred. Management coursework and/or MBA a plus.
  • This level may be achieved by technical professionals or managers with twelve years of experience since B.S. or eleven years since M.S., with at least three of these years in the Senior Project Manager position with highly complex project management responsibility.
  • Excellent technical and interpersonal skills, public speaking and persuasive ability; very strong financial management, team management, and leadership skills; ability to manage and coordinate efforts of various projects to produce budgeted profits and overall results. Possesses specific expertise to the extent that the individual is regarded as a regional or potentially national expert in a specific discipline, contract delivery method, particular type of project, planning process, design method, or modeling technique. Personal computer proficiency is required.
  • Professional registration in field of practice is required, if available, e.g., P.E., A.I.C.P., R.A., or R.L.A. Certification as a “Project Management Professional” (PMP) or “Certified Construction Manager” (CCM) required within one year of assuming this position.

Pay Range $123K - $215K
