Tooling Inventory Technician

Based on our current needs, opportunities are expected to be available starting immediately; positions are full time Technician/Technologist status at intermediate levels.

The Tooling Inventory Technician is responsible for working with the Tooling Management Team to enter and manage the tooling management database and help in planning the overall tool management.

At this time, this solicitation is for the following position, which may be changed to meet project requirements.

This role will be based in Kincardine, ON.

Your role within the teams:

  • Keep the database up to date and monitor all information being entered.
  • Will have responsibility for maintaining the database.
  • Provide input into any enhancements/development to improve the database.
  • Interface with the tool leads, technical leads and Teamsters to ensure tools are properly accounted for.
  • Register new tooling based off drawings and BOM’s.
  • Own the spares reordering process.
  • Perform Physical Crib Audits.
  • Provide Tooling support during Transitions.
  • Provide CribMaster Training.
  • Must be able to enter controlled contamination areas and vault for inventory audits and supporting tooling transition series.
  • Assume additional related responsibilities, as necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, efficient and effective communication (written and oral) and organization skills are essential.

The ideal candidate:

  • Diploma of Collegial studies in mechanical technology or relevant technical experience.
  • Detail oriented - Having the ability to focus on the key details of the data to be entered is a necessity.
  • Excellent oral and written English communication skills are mandatory.
  • Experience in areas such as inventory control, or planning would be beneficial.
  • Previous manufacturing skills and work experience is preferred.
  • CribMaster software experience preferred.
  • Must be able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with clients and staff in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio), Adobe.
  • Nuclear experience preferred.
  • Customers, suppliers, JV Partners, Teamsters.
  • Project Managers, project personnel, estimating personnel.
  • Various work locations in both field and office.
  • Travel as necessary.
  • Security Clearance is a requirement for employment. (Candu & Customer site: OPG/Bruce Power).
  • Must be “Team” Oriented with a demonstrated ability to work well with others and promote a positive work environment.
