AtkinsRéalis are seeking a seasoned Principal Architect/ Specification Writer with extensive experience in architectural specification writing. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development and execution of detailed architectural specifications, ensuring that all project requirements and standards are met. This role requires a thorough understanding of building codes, materials, and construction practices in the Middle East region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Manage Specifications: Create, edit, and maintain architectural specifications for a variety of building projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Teams: Work closely with architects, designers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure specifications are aligned with project goals and requirements.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all specifications meet industry standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
  • Material Research: Conduct research on new materials and technologies to ensure specifications are up-to-date and incorporate the latest industry advancements.
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive specification documents that are clear, concise, and easily understood by all project stakeholders.
  • Review and Update: Regularly review and update specifications to reflect changes in project scope, regulatory requirements, and industry trends.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to project teams regarding specification-related issues.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural specification writing, with a focus on projects in the Middle East.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Professional certification in specification writing is preferred.
  • Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards, and construction practices in the Middle East.
  • Skills: Excellent writing and communication skills, with a strong attention to detail. Proficiency in specification software and tools.
  • Collaborative: Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate with various stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solver: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex specification issues.
