Digital Asset management is one of Atkins’ priorities for growth, and we are seeking a Senior Structures Engineer to support our existing portfolio of projects and provide capacity to grow the business. The person we’re seeking to employ will enjoy contributing across a portfolio of consultancy projects and will thrive in a busy, innovative and challenging environment. You’ll be technically excellent and will be equally happy presenting to a client or developing technical details back at the office.


The role will be located at our Birmingham office, and regular travel to other UK offices and occasionally overseas.

Responsibilities

- Understanding of how geospatially correlated data feed into improvements in asset management and safety
- Knowledge of the capabilities, use and implementation approaches for leading practice Geospatial technologies alongside Enterprise Asset Management/CMMS solutions
- Experience in developing and using relevant information standards as they relate to geospatial and linear referencing models – especially within the Rail environment
- Ideally, knowledge of the key tools and capabilities of machine learning applied to GIS type data sources e.g. to support feature/asset extraction
- Experience of shaping and delivering projects to define, design and implement technology solutions for managing GIS data within the context of Enterprise asset and safety management
- Understanding of the approaches to selection & deployment of technology environments to enable the management of geospatial and visual data
