How will you contribute to the team?

The purpose of the role is to support the successful development of the Business Units Program and Project Management technology practice. This provides subject matter expertise in the design, development, and configuration of infrastructure capital program management digital solutions. The position establishes best practices for Atkins in the pursuit and delivery of this work. It will lead the delivery of related projects and support further business development, data analytics, database management, and report development. This position may require the ability to travel up to 20% of the time as needed.

Key Deliverable/Responsibilities

Project Management – lead delivery of program management technology projects.

Key activities include:

  • Represent owners in the procurement and selection of commercial PMIS and other digital solutions
  • Manage Atkins teams in the development of custom digital program management solutions
  • Maintain accountability for project profitability including monthly project accounting and reviews
  • Lead teams comprised of staff from across ANA as well as sub-consultants in the delivery of this work
  • Support similar teams either led by ANA or by sub-consultants
  • Oversees the direction of a digital services team or function within a group, office, or region
  • Assigns and manages project staffing levels and workforce plans.
  • Use technology to support the rapid mobilization or program staff and activities.

Project Support – support other project managers in technology-related projects.

Key activities include:

  • Provide subject matter expertise related to systems mapping, data governance, quality assurance, stage gates, risk management, dashboarding, training, and more
  • Develop processes, swim lane diagrams, user guides, and other documentation
  • Develop reporting solutions to meet client needs
  • Work with client data to understand trends, evaluate opportunities, and materialize actionable information
  • Manages staff coordination and workload and directly supervises digital services team.
  • Provide strategic advice and oversight on technology and analytics needs of the client or program.
  • Evaluate digital developments in the program management landscape and apply those developments to benefit the program.

Business Development – responsible for driving awareness, and adoption, of launched program management products within the BUs.

Key activities include:

  • Engaging with business development leads and bid teams to raise awareness of the portfolio
  • Collaborating with BUs and other groups throughout SNC-Lavalin including the Global Technology Center (GTC), Faithful + Gould (F+G), Data Transfer Solutions (DTS), and SNC-Lavalin technology, to grow pipeline (identify and develop opportunities)
  • Capture feedback to support continual product improvement or new opportunities
  • Provide business model and pricing strategies to support new, innovative approaches
  • Develops and implements the digital services business development plans and activities.
  • Review project procurement documents (e.g. RFI, RFP, Contracts) to ensure their specifications reflect client’s priorities, concerns, and objectives.

Product Development – grow the available offerings for Atkins.

Key activities include:

  • Manage teams that build custom Excel-based, Access-based, PowerBI, or other solutions to meet client business requirements and leverage those solutions to increase Atkins portfolio of available products
  • Work closely with GTC, F+G, DTS and others to help advance existing solutions
  • Support the management and implementation of SNC-Lavalin’s portfolio of commercial project and program management solutions

Required Experience:

  • Ten years relevant work within the infrastructure and capital program industry
  • Five years relevant work in program or project management
  • Five years managing business analytics or technology projects

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology, engineering, business, or other relevant field
  • Certification or demonstrated expertise in project management (e.g. PMP) and/or delivery methods (e.g. SCRUM)

Required Skills:

  • Excellent Project Management skills
  • Experience of working on major programs and projects within large Program Management Offices (PMO’s)
  • Ability to provide technical direction and creative vision to highly skilled teams
  • Extensive enterprise project management experience
  • Expert level excel knowledge
  • Expert level understanding of business analysis techniques
  • Experience in managing the configuration or design of business intelligence platforms either within a PMIS solution or outside of a PMIS solution. Preferred platform experience includes configuration of PowerBI.
  • Extremely strong verbal and written communications skills
  • Able to build relationships with software partners/vendors/developers
  • Understanding of the processes for competing for and delivering work to the public sector
  • Collaboration at all levels within a public agency and across multiple practices within a private organization
