We are seeking a Construction Manager to join our renewables energy team! This role requires the candidate to be at the project construction site 3 weeks a month on a rotational schedule.

How will you contribute to the team?

The Construction Manager reports to the Project Director and is responsible for the management of all interfaces required for construction of the project. This includes early and day-to-day identification and resolution of any interface or integration issues to ensure all EPC Contractors can progress their work effectively. This is a tactical position that is physically present in the field to ensure Interfaces are effectively managed and to monitor and track engineering interfaces, forecast potential clashes, and develop mitigation proposals

  • Responsible for the management of all interfaces required for construction of the project. This includes early and day-to-day identification and resolution of any interface or integration issues to ensure all EPC contractors can progress their work effectively.

  • Physically present in the field to ensure interfaces are effectively managed and to monitor and track engineering interfaces, forecast potential clashes, and develop mitigation proposals

  • Oversight of the various EPC contractors specific to construction work streams.

  • Identify interfaces, ensure the boundaries are clearly identified in the working documents and ensure the interface handovers are clearly identified in the schedule.

  • Review the interface management protocols for the EPC contractors and provide recommendations for identifiable gaps or opportunities to be more efficient and effective.

  • Ensure a collaborative approach is maintained across the team to facilitate execution activities across various interfaces of work, ensuring all issues are clearly understood by all stakeholders and addressed to closure.

  • Ensure appropriate interventions are developed and implemented in the project execution strategy to meet the project objectives.

  • Monitor suitability and availability of drawings and other data to ensure the contractor has the right information for the work in hand.

  • Monitor labor levels and suitability of abilities for outstanding work items.

  • Monitor quality of product / information / coordination provided by the EPC contractors for construction.

  • Ensure the contractor submits shop drawings, product data and samples, and coordinates them with information received from other contractors and transmits them to the consultant for review.

  • Monitor progress of the work for supporting future scheduled activities.

  • Ensure that materials for the work are submitted for approval on time, delivered on time and suitably stored on site prior to incorporation in the works.

  • Ensure that each contractor follows the current coordinated method statement for coordinating with other contractors.

What will you contribute?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field, plus four years relevant experience.
  • 10+ years' experience in the construction industry with experience in the energy sector; preferably renewable energy
  • Must be highly articulate, have clear and analytical approach to problem solving, and strong decision making abilities. 
  • Must have excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Must have ability to navigate Web-based construction management software (often provided by the client). 
  • Must have experience with setting meetings, organizing agendas, and keeping minutes for projects records.Must thoroughly understand and utilize Information Technology in the performance of work including Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project.
