Contract Administrator

SNC Lavalin are looking for a Contract Administrator for a project in Riyadh, KSA.
The Contract administrator will help the Client to negotiate, draft, review, and manage contracts. He/ she will support in resolving disputes relating to contracts or arranging agreements between parties, whether those parties are individuals or businesses. May be called upon to write briefs and, consult with clients and conduct interviews with persons and entities involved in legal cases.  

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES    

• Develop strategies to protect the intangible creations of RCRC and manage the procurement and registration of intellectual property rights.

• Analytical and support for the elaboration of an IP strategy 

• Advise on issues related to the ownership of service marks or trademarks, patents, trade secrets, and copyrights matters, among others.

• Advise on valuable intellectual property rights such as patents, technical data, artworks, trade secrets, licenses, copyrights and trademarks.

• Provision of technical advice, representation, and meditation with regards to any dispute resolution matters between RCRC and external parties, where it arises and relevant.

• Provide counsel about the rights and obligations of RCRC as well as provide protection of RCRC's intellectual property by enforcing statutory, regulatory and contractual obligations.

• Strategically advice and counsel on multi-jurisdictional legal frameworks (bi-lingual Arabic & English) according to local & international law, rulings, and regulations.

• Cater to knowledge or information producers like inventors, Artists, writers, musicians, directors, and producers.

• Provide advice and assistance on all matters relating to Artworks management and preparing patent applications on artworks.

• •Offer advice about protection of trademarks, and, in the process, help RCRC create and preserve brand images.

• Responsible for the drafting and the negotiation of procurement contracts with Artists/ consultants and provide support as required.

• Offer support and expertise on all RCRC & artist protection rights and other technical matters of IP/copyright including, but not limited to; exclusivity, image rights, Droit de Suite, or any applicable royalty claims.

• Review proposals and proposed statements of work to ascertain appropriate intellectual property provisions for inclusion in any resulting contract.

• Conduct legal, technical and scientific research and gather evidence.

• Monitor research and development activities for the identification of creations and potential external claims for compensation.

• Capacity to adapt and knowledge of a variety of law areas (e.g.: law of Artworks, new technologies, data protection and unfair competition law) and intellectual property law.

• Needs to be able to interpret complex technical language and communicate the terms of the contracts they draft.

• Experience with KSA law

• Experience in architectural / art contracting framework.
