We are hiring! AtkinsRealis is seeking a Defense Market Sector Director. A Defense Market Sector is an integral part of the Infrastructure Solutions Business Unit (IS BU) leadership and management team. This position may be based out of any AtkinsRealis’ hub or regional office.

How will you contribute to the team?

  • Directs and oversees the assignments, activities, and resources of a Sector housed within a client-facing Business Unit (BU).
  • Provides leadership, direction, and guidance to Division Managers, Project Directors, and Project Managers within an assigned Sector to ensure the proper execution of projects.
  • Actively works with ISBU Director, Federal HUB Director, Business Development and Strategy (BD&S) Director, BU Financial Director, and BU Operations Director to develop and implement strategy and to identify opportunities for staffing projects, pursuits, and to encourage cross-selling.
  • Ultimately responsible for client relations, quality control, safety, and financial performance for the assigned Sector. Typically, responsible for annual revenues over $20M+.

Strategy and Vision:

  • Leads client engagement and development with existing DoD Federal clients in various regions of the United States; develops strategy for growth on existing Federal programs; and identifies new opportunities to pursue to help grow AtkinsRéalis’ Federal portfolio of work.
  • Ensures the Sector vision contributes to overall BU goals and vision.
  • Activities will include planning, developing, and implementing strategies to expand geographically and services for the Sector.
  • Reports Sector progress against developed strategy no less than quarterly.

Client Management and Service, Growth and Sales:

  • Works with BU leadership and the Technical Professional Organization (TPO) management teams to ensure effective delivery against company goals and priorities and drive BU Sector client service activities.
  • Develops client management needs/forecast and helps to procure staff to ensure delivery for projects based in the Sector.
  • Works with the TPO management team and Division Managers to staff and deliver projects.
  • Participates in the recruitment and selection of candidates for senior level jobs within the Sector.
  • Attend and involvement with SAME or related professional organizations, represent AtkinsRéalis as a sustaining member at meetings in the region.
  • Coordinate with MarCom, Federal BU, and regional BD&S, and TPO staff to develop, build, measure, track, and report on winning marketing strategy(ies), brochures and focused marketing materials, and client outreach/communications.
  • Responsible for developing, monitoring, and operating within pursuit and division budgets.
  • Perform strategic reviews (pink, red, green, gold, and IQR) on proposals.
  • Coordinates with the BU Director, BD&S Director, and others to drive sales and growth for the Sector.
  • Coordinates and prioritizes Sector marketing activities with the BD&S Director and staff.
  • Recommends possible clients and/or project pursuits for the Sector.
  • Maintains contacts with primary current and prospective clients, including initial contacts, presentations, negotiating agreements, keeping client apprised of work progress, and ensuring client's satisfaction; identifies and works toward the resolution of client relations problems.
  • Represents the BU and company at appropriate industrial, professional, technical, civic, and government circles to enhance company image and communicate our capabilities.

What will you contribute:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, architecture, or engineering.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills. Supervisory/management skills.
  • Strong grammar, spelling, composition, and proofreading abilities.
  • Job requires detail orientation and the ability to multi-task and work under the pressure of a deadline-driven environment.
  • Computer skills required and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, with CRM programs, and other software programs.
  • Job requires ability to travel. If local travel is required, the use of a personal vehicle may be required. The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company policy. The vehicle must be in good working order and insured. Mileage reimbursement allowance will be available.
